Considering being a part-time student

Published

Mt program allows me to chose either full time or part-time. I was considering being a part-time student, so that I can work. Would I be losing out by not going to school full time? Do most people think I would loose out by not going FT?

Do you mean once you are admitted to the registered nurse program you can go part time? Or are you just talking about the prerequisites?

I can't figure out how nursing students could be part time? Many nursing school students get jobs as CNA's, or MA's, or some kind of part time "tech" position in a hospital and can work per diem a few shifts while going to school.

If you can afford it I'd vote for full time student. Focus on getting good grades, getting though school, and getting a decent paying job when you're a registered nurse.

I did part time prerqs, but am in a full time ADN program now.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. I don't think you can be part time in an ADN or even BSN nursing program?
