Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.

Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.

I wish I knew how many applicants...I applied to Gateway. 3.76 gpa, A in a&p1 and 75 on teas. Good luck to all!

Hi all.

I just got a paper from capital cc. I ineligible for the 2014 program because my transcript was missed!!!! nooooooo,, i was sent to them twice and i was checked on my history request from MCC, and i email to the head director of nursing program too. They turn me down because of this, that's impossible. Also, before the deadline i went to capital admission to ask a stuff there. she told me "Dont worry, you are all set" well, this is the result of her "all set", i was missed my transcript. suckkkkkk......, if i don't have a child, i would love to apply to another school that better than Capital. good luck everyone. i just want to share with all of you.... i will let u know, when they reply my email. But, i know for sure, this year the capital admission as ruin my future.

Cat, if you read through last years thread you can get an idea of how many applicants they usually have at Gateway. It's about the same every year for each school, give or take a few I think.

I'm sorry to hear you got an ineligible letter pdd. Is there any information in your letter about appealing?

Thank you MissCris,

Oh really, I thought that only happen to me.

I think, they should work harder or better than this. I know we are frustrate, but they still have to more organize and approve with the systems.

In my case, i went to capital and asked by myself too, this is the result of " NO met". well, this is a terrible example and the outcome of under work of their stuff, and it's effect me. i am not get in this year, i will try to reapply next year. This time, i hope i get in.

pdd14,

If you check the letter, it says you can appeal. If you can show that you requested the transcript before the deadline, and it was sent in before then, then you can appeal to school of first choice, and have them fix it. I too got an ineligible letter from GCC too, but I had already been in contact with the school regarding a missing transcript. I was able to show that I requested the transcript back in January, and the person at GCC fixed it for me. Now everything shows 'Met' in mycommnet. So don't give up; if you are in the right, then show them. Good luck.

OH dear god, PLEASE improve your grammar if you want to be an RN!!!

Why are you being rude? Constructive criticism is one thing but you are just being rude. There's a lot that could be said about you atitude but I wont go there. If the post offended your sensabilities so much, then just dont read it. If you were trying to be constructive, there are a lot of other ways the word it instead of "oh dear god". I agree with you that the language needs to improve but being rude helps no one and your suggestions just seem rude and inappropriate.

I know my grammar is not good as who born here, but I am pround to myself to be this far. Do you understand the meaning of "manner"?. if you don't understand i will recommend you to go back to preschool and sit down with those kids. I don't care with your opinion at all. This is not an English course. This is just the page we can share ideas together. I know my english is not perfect, but i know the meaning of respect to people who is suffering. My parents always teach me how to forgive with who has dirty mouth and lowwwww ....,

I don't care where do you work, or what are you doing now..., but now we are equal and should not say nasty like that to me. I don't know you neither you never know me before.

I wish and hope you will never suffer like me " go around come around"

Did you go to the admission office or by email?

I did it by email. It says in the letter who you should appeal to. Their email address is in the letter.

360 or so people applied to naugatuck

I wonder how long the appeals for ineligible apps take. The director of nursing at NCC told a friend of mine that he sent everything to Hartford already for the people who met the requirements. He said we will know by the 21st.
