Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014

Published

I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.

Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.

TEAS-92 GPA when I was accepted last year 3.97...do not let that fool you-yes it can only help and if you keep up your scores etc...you will most likely be accepted, however I know just as many people still "waiting" because if you are not at the top, but still high up you may fall victim to the dreaded lottery...It is completely and totally unfair. Those that strive to make the high marks should be given priority...especially when that is what all the schools preach...gotta get that A in a&p gotta score high on the TEAS...B.S! So many get in with low scores...where is the consistency??? Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, I was talking to someone the other day about how crappy the lottery system is. That's why I really want to get my A&P up to an A, I don't want to take any chances. I'm applying to Bridgeport Hospital as well, but I don't have high hopes because my overall GPA isn't that great :sorry: I do have the fact that only nursing related courses are considered working for me at NCC so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sounds like a good plan-I did the same-applied everywhere I could. Once "in" I will say it is a very good program!

I am applying to TRCC. TEAS 82, GPA 3.84 and I have an A in A&P 1 right now. I'm still trying to decide if I should take the TEAS test again.

That seems like a pretty solid TEAS score to me. When I take mine I'm planning to call the nursing advisor and ask her directly what the "average" is, then I'll go from there.

Applying to TRCC second time this year. Waitlisted for 2013-2014. Still hopeful for January start. Did anyone notice they did away with Fall or Spring start choice option? Wonder if students no longer have choice.

I was waitlisted last year. #18. Throwing my hat into the lottery again this year. 89% on TEAS-V and 3.86-ish GPA. We will see what happens.

Oh no, I replied to your posts when we all found out, was rooting for you!! I hope you get in so you can get your RN, positive thoughts to you!!

Hi all, I'm applying for 2014 to nvcc. My stats are an A so far in a&p 1, a 3.67 gpa, and a 74 on my teas. I'm retaking the teas and hoping for over an 80. Just wondering stats of people accepted or applying
