Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.

Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.

Lol!! I am sure we all will be looking for that glitch again. ?

Hahah! I feel the students know more than half the advisors!!

If we haven't received an ineligible letter by now, we're probably ok on that front, right? Does anyone know for sure that those letters have gone out? I feel the crazy starting to creep up on me, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be compulsively checking comment 5 times a day starting April 1st :nailbiting: It's gonna be a looooong couple of weeks.

The ineligible letters are going out this week, the week of the 31st. That is what the website says.

You should know if you're ineligible anyway.....

I'm sure I'm not ineligible, but I'm taking A&P II right now and it still comes up as "Not Met" in the nursing application status link. I'm not sure if that's supposed to disappear or show as "Met" since it's in progress, though I admit I'm probably too paranoid about these kinds of things lol

I emailed and asked the same question. I was afraid it should show "in progress"

The advisor said it should show as "not met" and not to be concerned. I check commnet 10x's a day!

If you are in it now, obviously it is Not Met/In Progress. If you are accepted, and successfully pass A&P2, then you are fine, it is met. Let's say you get accepted and do not pass A&P2, then you will not be able to accept your acceptance. Whether or not you can retake it in the Summer, I have no idea. But that is what is meant by Not Met. Ineligible, would mean you haven't completed pre-req's needed or you do not have the GPA required.

Has anyone's Nursing GPA been calculated with your pre-req grades where it says met/not met when you go to check the status of your application?

Did anyone get an ineligibility letter today? I have a few friends that recieved one form gcc. I applied to nvcc so I just wanted to know if they all come out at the same time or if each school sends them out separately.

Hey everyone, I was accepted last year to NVCC. Once they entered the "met/not met" stuff on commnet, nothing else ever changed-meaning, no nursing GPA was ever entered. Just wanted to let you all know so you don't drive your self nuts over it (trust me-I did last year!!!) If you have any questions-feel free to ask!

I'm getting so nervous!! it's almost time to find out! last year they found out april 11th i think. I have a 3.67 gpa A in a&p1 and 76 on teas. I wonder what the stats were like of the people accepted last year
