Connecticut Community Colleges - Applying for 2014

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.

Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.

This thread is so so quiet compared to last year! How is everyone dealing with the stress? Good luck :)

It is quiet, maybe some of us aren't always on here as others are? I'm working two jobs to pass the time. Have some apps in other programs since there are really no RN jobs here except BSN grads or those with experience. Frustrating, but the way it's going here!

It's SUPER quiet! I'm working, taking A&P II and planning my wedding. You'd think that would keep my mind off of it but no lol I'm calculating and recalculating my GPA and reading the old threads and asking my fiance every 5 minutes "What does your GUT say? Do you think I'll get in??" I'm just hoping the next 2-3 months fly by before I drive everyone I know completely crazy :cheeky:

I'm getting married Sept. 6, when is your date?! So much fun planning!! The more you worry, the longer May will take to get here. This is my second time around, and I have a dgaf mentality, and its great!! Nothing changes the outcome, so don't stress you and your fiance out.

True, it's all out of my hands at this point. Some days I'm able to forget about it but at other moments it just really strikes me how disappointed I'll be if I don't make it in and it starts a spiral of self doubt.

My wedding is June 20th, most of the big stuff I planned really early so I'm just getting little detail stuff together now. It is fun! I'm especially excited for the honeymoon ;)

ohh Well! is that time of the year again. Applications have been submitted, let the stress begin! I wish you all the best luck! :)

Got the scoop on Norwalk's applicants. 240 total. Apparently there were a lot of incomplete apps, so I was told to "figure about 200 good ones." There will be 80 seats this year.

Do I get a chance of getting in? My A&P1 is A-, nursing gpa is 3.3 and my teas is only 66.

Not sure anyone can tell you that. Where did you apply? Did you speak to an advisor? The pool of applicants is different every year so you never know who you're up against. But technically, everyone who has met the minimum requirements has a chance, thanks to the lottery.

MissCris is right, anyone that meets requirements has a chance :). You never know, like she said, depends on pool of applicants and school you applied to. Best of luck to us all!

I applied at Capital Comm College. Yes you are right. It varies on who you are up against on the pool. Thanks to the lottery. Good luck all!

So I am all applied to naugatuck. I got an A in a&p, 3.65 gpa and a 76 on tease. Wondering other peoples stats. Advisor said there were 363 applicants to naugatuck

Does anyone know if NCC still offers a Spring start option? I'd ask the advisors but they haven't answered any of my emails since before the deadline. I think they're sick of me already :lol2:
