I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.
Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.
toonsis, have you gotten your wait list number yet? If not, don't give up hope! I looked back at your stats, personally I think they're great, but a 3.6 would give you a much better chance at getting accepted next year. Gateway seems to be more competitive than the other schools, I've noticed, most likely because they have the most applicants. Would you consider applying to another one of the CC's with fewer people trying to get in? I know quite a few people at NCC who were accepted with stats considerably lower than yours
Accepted to BHSON and I'm 19 on the waitlist at Gateway! I think you will be called! Good luck!
It's so weird that you are 19, there must be a bigger spread in Teas score. Because I thought you would be higher than me, it really just shows how CLOSE the applicants are. In any case, your hard work has paid off

Yeah, I know. I'll never understand their system. I've been advised to stick with BHSON even if Gateway calls me. What do you think?
Cost wise go with Gateway. Where do you live? I have heard good and bad about both programs. I only applied to Gateway, due to cost. Gateway does have really good professors, my friend loves Bridgeport nursing school. It's hard to decide. The thing with a CC college is that they can call us up until the day before class starts.

Yeah. I live in Hamden. My first choice was GCC being closer to home and cheaper. My friend was number 20 last year and she got in. I was 22. This year I'm 19. You have good chances to be called.

Oh that's a good thing! So we wouldn't have to wait until September. ...
