You won't pass your NCLEX just by being confident, but it is a very important piece to the puzzle. If you have studied your material and have done well on countless practice questions, you should pass your test. Have some confidence in your self and your ability!
Not everyone will like my approach, but if you know your stuff, I think it could work for you.
My instructors always told me to expect to answer all 265 questions. Where's the confidence in that?! My husband was kind enough to drive me to my test facility in a city about a mile away. He dropped me off and I told him to pick me up in an hour because I was only going to have 75 questions. When I answered question 75, I was confident I was done. Guess what?! I was! I was the first person out of there and my husband was waiting for me outside.
Confidence can work wonders!
Good luck! And git r done!

AWESOME post!! Believing in yourself is half the battle!! School teaches us what to expect, but most of us freak out so badly that we forget what we are told. Congratulations on the pass!!

I 100% agree. The people I know who failed the nclex didn't do so because they were "dumb" or didn't know the material. It was because they were in a panic and a terrible frame of mind.
And then failing knocks their confidence down even lower...so how are they supposed to do better the second time?
I struggle with self doubt and it kicks me in the butt sometimes, but I practice what I used to do when I played basketball - I imagine myself succeeding. I imaging myself walking into the test room confidently, knowing the answers, and passing even if it's in 256 questions. It doesn't compensate for lack of knowledge, but all the knowledge in the world doesn't matter if you can't think straight enough to use it.

Congrats on passing! I'm happy for you. However, personally for me I'd never tell anyone to pick me up in an hour when going into NCLEX no matter how confident. My hubby dropped me off at the test center too, though I told him I was going to take my time with the test and would call him when I was done. Many of my classmates took about 1-2 minutes a question as well. Everyone's test taking abilities (and NCLEX) are different and rushing through NCLEX is not something you want to do. I only wanted to take NCLEX once and some of the questions/answers are tricky and take some thought!

Great post!!!
I also believe confidence and faith are key factors in passing. Every night I would envision seeing "Pass" when I checked my results and I would always write my name followed by RN. It worked for me and on test day I was not nervous...I even went in early to take my test lol.

I agree! The first time I took it I had 148 questions and failed and was not confident at all. The second time I wrote positive notes to myself during the exam on my white board and kept reinforcing myself throughout. Although I had 205 questions the second time I managed to pull it together and pass by building my confidence and refusing to give up.
