COMPUTER CHARTING

What computer charting your hospital uses for level 3 NICU? I need to present some ideas for computer charting to my administration. Thank you for your time and response.

EPIC charting software

We use EPIC, user friendly, IT can build in specific things.

Thank you so much!

We use EPIC also, but don't let them sell you the adult ICU version and tell you they can modify it for NICU. Buy the NICU module to begin with.

I am a nicu traveler so I have seen quite a few programs. Most popular seems to be EPIC but others that I have work with are CERNER, SORIAN, CPN(only HCA hosps uses it), MEDITECH and CRIB NOTES.

We use the badger system (UK), all our care is on the computer, monitoring, fluids, blood gases + lab results automatically input to the baby notes then we add our own notes as we go along.

We currently use a McKesson product that is called Care Manager, but we are moving over to Epic in three months. There are several other L3 NICUs in our area that also use Epic.
