There is allot of discussion on news media bias. I thought I would start a topic dedicated to this. I find the best way to gather information of any topic is to read various sources of different political leanings.
To start the conversation, I'll submitt this news story.
A headline from Fox News and one from MDNSBC. Note the different headlines and contents.

In reality it is your space to repost what you find on Allsides that confirms your biases.
Oh I'm sorry. Did you post a story and compare the reporting on whatever you were referring to? I didn't see it in your post.
HiddenAngels said:late to the party --- Maybe I read this wrong but I don't think it's okay to suspect a black person of committing a crime against a white person simply because he's black. Unless Roitrn is saying that we should just based of color not think blacks commit crimes against white. That does seem silly and doesn't need to be said, but that's not what was meant was it?? If so, then ignore my post and I understand
No. A person's race is not what should be considered or speculated as a motive unless there is evidence to suggest that it was.
I was commenting the media bias of stating the race of the person who committed a crime when there is no evidence or it is unknown if it is racially motivated. Most often when the perpetrator is white. This suggest it was motivated by race when it is said in the headline.
Often it will be said when the perpetrator is white but is left out of the headline or omitted entirely when the perpetrator is a POC.

When Tree of Life shootings occurred in Pittsburgh, I had no idea of type of church -a synagogue- until TV and print publications gave a description along gunman telling swat team apprehending him he "wanted all Jews to die".

Trans Day of Visibility was a PREPLANNED event. State laws targeting transgender kids and families much more serious issue facing our country with more bias towards this group. Nashville police have not released shooters motive. Highly possible if this person was transgendered, teachings/event as this school they previously attended could have contributed to their mental health issue now being reported versus hate against a specific religious group.
Issue all sides report is minor compared to this headline:
The Biden White House is uninterested in honoring the Nashville shooting victims splashed by the NY Post on 4/2/2023
Guess they missed the video on 3/27/23 of First lady Jill Biden attends vigil for Nashville school shooting victims which I watched on my evening news along with same day White House A Proclamation on Honoring the Victims of the Tragedy in Nashville, Tennessee . Sometimes actions are more important than words.
You think violence against trans-people is more concerning than gun violence?
There is many religions that do not acknowledge trans-identity. There are many religions that persecute LGBTQ people and even beat and kill them freely. While different sects of Christanity vary in their beliefs about LGBTQ. Many religions also do.
However there are several sects of the Christan faith that fully welcome and accept LGBTQ in their congregations. There was even a trans-priest highlighted on YouTube.
Also see several below in New Jersey alone.
Christianity is not the only religion that does not fully accept LGBTQ. However I would argue that Christianity has the most sects that do.
Christianity even in majority Christan countries do not actively persecute and punish LQBTQ with death and beatings.

This is your opinion and it reflects your bias.

This is my opinion, I reconize my bias but this is easily evident by reporting habits of the media.
There's a difference between bias and outright denile. Bias isn't always overt but denial and refusal is a conscious.
You'll no doubt criticize the source, but will you have anything to say about the content?

Who said that violence against transgendered people was more concerning than gun violence? Starting with a nonsequitor is a warning for us.
Yeah there are some religious sects or congregations that are welcoming to the LGBTQ community. There are also some that are very decidedly NOT welcoming. What's the point you are trying to make?

Asking a question for clarification is a "warning " for you? Mlay..
The point is that there is a general talk about Christianity and all the feelings of the church doing this or that. The focus is on the perpetrator not the victims. Or some victims are left out depending on the religion of the abuser. If you wish to discuss child sexual abuse then do that. However include all abuse by all perpetrators. The over representation of abuse by Christians in these thteads suggest the primary discussion point is about the Chrisian church. Not about the abuse itself. Avoiding speaking about abuse by other religions stands to enable the religions that some how get excluded from discussions.
It's seems disingenuous to speak out on child sexual abuse by only one perpetrator. When there is several and some that do it openly and excuse it. There are much more heinous abuse happening right now.

Your comment that I quoted didn't cite a source. It was just your opinion.

Really? You were just clarifying by asking something specific that wasn't said or implied? You weren't implying something about another members beliefs by using a nonsequitor? Do you know what that means?
This doesn't answer my question. What point are you trying to make by pointing out that some religious groups are welcoming to the LGBTQ community? Why is that relevant in this thread?

I was asking a question for clarification. I'm not in the habit of making assumptions. I find when I have in the past it doesn't allow me to fully understand what a person is trying to say. So I ask questions to clarify.
It is relevant because the comments of these threads would suggest that Christians are the only religion to have facets that oppose LGBTQ. When as a whole, I would say many Christian facets do welcome LGBTQ. Not to mention that you will not find mostly Christian countries that punishing LGBTQ people by death.
It's also relevant because it seems that people are speculating that the motive of the most recent domestic terrorist attack which killed 3 children and 3 adults at a Christian school, was because they may have felt discrimated or marginalized by Christans.
Like it's an excuse or something.

So if you just want clarification why wouldn't you use the member's words rather than asking about something that the member DID NOT SAY and DID NOT IMPLY? This suggests that you either 1) have trouble with reading comprehension or 2) are trying to imply something about the member's beliefs or thinking.
I can't decide which it is.
Which comments suggest that Christians are the only religion to have facets that oppose LGBTQ? Quote them.
Have you ever heard of PTSD? Do you think that hurt people sometimes act out in very unhealthy ways? Or is that just some kind of excuse?
