There is allot of discussion on news media bias. I thought I would start a topic dedicated to this. I find the best way to gather information of any topic is to read various sources of different political leanings.
To start the conversation, I'll submitt this news story.
A headline from Fox News and one from MDNSBC. Note the different headlines and contents.

You tell me... how does gun violence relate to race? I mention the data that says that most mass shooters are white males and you immediately pivot to talk about black gang gun violence, specifically in Chicago. That suggests to me that you do think that there's a relationship between gun violence and race beyond the data, and that's why you do that.
Yes, I think that right wing media is too often spinning a narrative about blacks and migrants and violence.
IMV, there's not much evidence that you check anything about your media citations other than they appear to support your opinion.
Yes. You ascertained most mass shootings are white men to justify the media highlighting this fact.
I do not make it a habit of associating anything in regards to race. Unless a story has a clear association that race played a factor. Like a suspected hate crime.
The color of a person's skin doesn't commit a crime, the person does.
Yes. My sources support my opinion. That's the point.

I did what?
It is a fact that most mass shootings have white male shooters. That fact alone justifies reporting that mentions the ethnic and gender details of any/all mass shooters. It's comparative.
No the skin color doesn't commit crime but it does trigger some prejudices and assumptions for too many Americans.
Yep, your articles support your opinion but often are full of right wing hyperbole, spin, or misleading information is the norm in these threads and that is my point. The articles about the trans swimmer angst were examples of that.

Anything anyone says that doesn't fit your narrative is "right wing hyperbole" by default...... Seems to be a constant trend for you on these threads.....
Hmm. Gender and ethnicity? So was it relevant to report that the most recent domestic terrorist attack killing 3 children and 3 adults was a trans-gender person? Didn't you say this part was irrelevant? And tried to suugest that this person's radicalizatiion had nothing to do with her trans-identity other than Christian's probably treated her badly?
And once again. I said nothing about the "trans-swimmer".
toomuchbaloney said:I'm weary of this. You don't seem to ever comprehend anything that I write. That makes the back and forth meaningless and I will never agree with your right wing angst. Even though I might understand it better than you.
Yes. And I guess I'll never agree with your far left ideology. What to do........?
I fully doubt you can understand somethings better than me.
