Hello,
I am a december grad!!!!!! I am nopt sure when I will be able to take the NCLEX, but I am anticipating it being febuary or march. I know there are more of us out there so I figured I would start a thread for us. i noticed the nov. dec, jan, threads seem so supporyive and helpful.
I am planning on taking a review course with the state board of nursing, kaplan, and doing questions. I havnt decided if I will work as a GN while I am studying or not. so... what is everyone else doing???
I just finished my exam....120sum questions. I am shaking. It was my 3rd time taking it. The first 2 times I had 265 questions. I feel like I did good this time. I was not re-reading every questions like the 1st two times. Are my chances good? I feel like there is no way I answered that many questions wrong for it to turn off on me at 120 questions....
Now the waiting game....
Good Luck!!! Just think Positive. You made it through nursing school.......you can do this. I did approx 1800 Questions from Saunders Q and A, All the question trainers, which I got 60,60, 52, 57, 60, 60, 62. I did the entire qbank too. I just hope that it is enough..........I have been reviewing saunders comprehensive too....
Keep me posted!!!
Thanks so much!! I just cannot wait for this to be over!!
I just took the NCLEX-RN this morning. I was nervous and had to do some deep breathing exercises while I was being checked in. I honestly can't remember a thing about the test. I was wishing and hoping I would get cut off at 75 because I just wanted the whole ordeal to be over with.
And what do you know...I was cut off at 75.
I didn't take a prep course but I got a Kaplan book and the Saunder's comprehensive review book (I didn't really use the book but I loved the CD that came with it).
On some level for those who haven't shceduled it yet...I would just say take it ASAP. There wasn't a whole lot in the exam that I felt I could "study" for. It was a lot of little critical thinking type stuff where I had to think my way through answers that I wasn't absolutely sure about.
We'll see in a few days.
I took them this morning too. Cut off at 75 questions and I know everyone says that they think they failed but I seriously got the bad end of that stick! I counted 9, YES 9, "choose all that apply" questions!! And the strangest barrage of off the wall questions you could think of!
...and if you're studying drug side effects, which I highly recommend...don't bother with the obvious ones! Every time I got a drug questions and thought to myself "O-o I know that one!" there were none of the effects I was familiar with in the options. NONE! I think they chose the side effects to list that were at the very ends of the lists.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for letting me vent....keeping my fingers crossed.
