Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for 2024! Good luck :)!

The acceptance letter states that orientation is "mandatory" and we must attend all three days.

Hey I know this is off topic but I noticed you got into many programs, do you know which one you'll choose yet? I'm having a tough time deciding.

No not yet. I am in the process of deciding. Why do you ask?

Congratulations to all those accepted! Has anyone received a merit-based scholarship with their admission letter?

I did! Does anyone know what the lowest/highest merit-aid scholarship given is?

So I got a scholarship but it didn't say which category it fell into so I'm just assuming it's need based since most of the merit based scholarships that I saw on the Columbia website were for DNP students and I only applied to MDE

When did you receive the notice that you receive the scholarship?

In the acceptance letter, it was all in one

I'm planning on applying this upcoming cycle but I'd love to know when orientation is for you all so that way I can have an idea of how next year could look like!

For the Post-BS DNP peeps:

I'm assuming everyone got the email today saying decisions are delayed and will be out by end of the month? And also that there will be an in-person Student Day, tentatively on March 25th?

Yes, I received that email yesterday. Not sure how to receive it.. When I first read it... It sounded like I may have already been "admitted" considering they are basically telling you to keep March 25th available in your calendar... Then after re-reading it a few times, its worded in such a passive aggressive way haha. Now, I am reading it... "keep the day available IN CASE we choose you" *I get they are just informing us of a first-time in person event and they wanted to be kind and let us know early on for work/schedule purposes but still... haha Its like basically a month away and a lot of people would need to fly in/get a hotel etc to visit the school, this is something that is usually planned at the very least a month ahead AND with a certainty of acceptance, not a "just in case" sort of thing... I dunno the email is rubbing me the wrong way.

Email wording:

"While specific information will only be sent to admitted applicants, we know that as nurses your schedules are created weeks in advance. The proposed date for this event will be Monday, March 25th."

Oh Columbia, just release the decisions already please.. I am not sure why this is taking so long considering they already know how many DNP seats are available since we would be joining the previous MDE 2023 cohort who will be bridging into their DNP specialities this Fall with us...

My schedule for March was submitted a few days ago. I don't even remember if I plotted for the 25th or not. These people are a joke. Why so last minute?

I have a feeling we're not going to hear anything until the 26th...

It's incredible how long this is taking considering they already know how many seats they have for the DNP specialties. We are essentially joining the cohort that was admitted in June 2023 for the MDE that will bridging into their respective DNP specialties.  I feel like we are "filler" LOL
