  1. Yeah I was accepted to many of the typical masters direct entry programs Yale, Hopkins, etc and I will say once you're accepted they send many personalized emails and communication efforts to get you to attend. Columbia specifically has a visiting day in March that is very well put together, lots of swag, food, and opportunities for questions. They provide many info sessions (Zoom) that allow you to make an informed decision. My letter of recs came from my director of my community college, NYU professor, and a nurse at my CNA job. As far as extracurriculars I was a part of many clubs and organizations NYU based (RA, dean of students, etc) most students who applied are really involved so as long as you have 2-3 orgs that you're consistently committed to I would say that's fine.
  2. Sure. Alma mater NYU 3.9 GPA. No interviews outside of a recorded video interview for your application. But really strong letters of recommendation I would say was a big factor. I'm not sure what you mean by demonstrated interest.
  3. Hi I'm currently in the mde/DNP and your question is a difficult one because there are different seats allotted for different DNP. Like midwifery for example has between 15-18 seats whereas FNP has around 40. The MDE class has around 200 people per year so probability speaking you're more likely to get accepted to MDE and not DNP. Keep in mind that for DNP you are also competing for spots from last year's MDE class, as well as those who may switch to different DNP programs. Hope this helps!
  4. If facts are to be stated you would see that Columbia is unranked all together. It just seems like your rejection is still a sore spot and I hope you can find a way to get over that. I say that as someone who also got into Hopkins, Yale, Columbia and most of the top programs. Clearly we are all intelligent. No need to be happy for anyone's downfall. Weird energy
  5. Hey I know this is off topic but I noticed you got into many programs, do you know which one you'll choose yet? I'm having a tough time deciding.
