Columbia University School of Nursing - Masters Direct Entry (MDE) / DNP 2024

Published

Hello everyone! This thread is for folks applying to Columbia's MDE/DNP program for 2024! Good luck :)!

Specializes in Nurse Practitioner.

Would anyone be interested in a facebook group for admitted MDE (or MDE/DNP) students!!? I have to make a few others decisions soon for other schools and think it'd be nice to have a forum!

Congrats to everyone! I was also accepted to the MDE/DNP program for Psych Mental Health. I look forward to connecting with all of you ?

Did anyone get a notification that they were accepted into the PLAN (Pathways to Leadership & Advancement in Nursing) Program?

I didn't but I'm not sure how fast those acceptance's go out. From my understanding they review for that after the acceptance's into the MDE program went out as they don't review people that didn't get accepted.

Yes! I was just told it is reviewed after acceptances and right before the deposit deadline!

Me too!! Congratulations everyone I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi everyone! I also was admitted into the MDE program but I didn't see any mention of financial aid/cost of tuition. I completed the separate financial aid application too, I hope this doesn't mean I don't get any aid. I emailed the school just now but was wondering if anyone knew anything.

For the POSTBSN/DNP applicants. I emailed the director of the program today and he said we will know by the end of the month...   Hopefully that helps. I am a bit annoyed with all the miscommunication from the school at this point... especially when they flat out told me (twice) that we would hear decisions at the same time as the MDE students.

congrats again to everyone ?

Wow. The end of the month? Sheesh! Oh well, can't worry over things we have no control over. Thanks for obtaining the information! At least now I won't be obsessively refreshing my gmail screen! ?

congrats to all the MDE students!

Hey everyone! Super excited! I was accepted into MDE/DNP-FNP and am still in shock! I was planning on doing another program with a September start date, and I have been doing my prerequisites with a longer time frame. I can't pass up Columbia and the (a little bit) cheaper cost, so I'm shooting to get all my prereqs done by 5/29. I need to get Anatomy 1 and Micro done. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally, not Portage haha

Congratulations Pawel! And wait...what's wrong with Portage? O.o hahaha. Because I was planning to use it also to complete two pre requisites.

Thank you!

I'm working full-time (+ another part-time job) and taking my courses during my lunch break. Unfortunately, I can't do the proctored exams since people are moving around me. Portage uses both lockdown (which is fine for me) and proctor software.
