Hi AN fellows!

I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!

If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!

@NPDanie Did you put the GRE test date as the app due date and 0's for all the score values? I was wondering the same thing but when I called they told me I did everything correctly, then received that email a couple days later.

Same! I wish we would have been able to review our video (without any edits I understand that). But it was a relief to have that part over and done with!

No I actually put the date I was going to graduate lol. They were unclear with that but I did contact admissions and they said everything is fine and they will be reviewing everything shorty.. as someone mentioned previously.

What other schools are you guys applying to. I live in NJ so I am applying to Rutgers, NYU and Columbia.. but Columbia is my top choice:)

I live in San Francisco! I am also applying to NYU's ABSN program, USF, and UCLA.

Hi everyone! I applied to the MDE/DNP program in the psych specialty. I'm also applying to UT Austin's AE-MSN in psych nurse practitioner, MGH's Institute of Health Profession DE-MSN, Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty entry, and UF's ABSN. I'm only applying to programs that have the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Track, and UF's ABSN is my other option since I already live in Gainesville.

I took the GRE back in early September and still have an X over it, so don't worry too much! I also have two pre-reqs in progress this fall.

By the way, I finished my application a couple days ago and got this:

"Thank you for submitting an application to Columbia University School of Nursing. Your application will be reviewed in a two-step process: The Office of Admissions will review your application to confirm receipt of all necessary materials. Once an initial review is complete, you will be sent an email prompting you to check your application status. If incomplete, instructions will be provided to complete your application. Your application MUST BE COMPLETE before moving to the second step. Once all materials have been received, your application will be sent to the Admissions Committee for a decision. Decisions will be delivered through the online application system. Notification will be sent via email. We look forward to reviewing your application."

@Ke1215 For NYU do we have to add every school we attended even if we transferred or just attended for a summer class?

@dmariepsycho Yeah I received that as well. I just wanted to make sure I didn't mess everything up lol but the person I contacted today reassured me I was fine so you should be fine also :)

I applied to Stony Brook where I have an interview later this month for their school of nursing. I was looking to apply to another safety school but not sure where else.

To my knowledge yes, had to send in all transcripts and had to be official. (for NYU)

I forgot to add I applied for the MDE/DNP program- Family Nurse Practitioner.

My advice for the Video Essay is to dive right into the obstacle, but spend the most time talking about what you LEARNED from it. I talked about the obstacle a lot and had to rush through what I learned. You don't get a lot of time at all.

I had a very similar experience! My video essay was God awful. LOL I spent 10 seconds about what I learned, and I tried to make a smooth transition into how I can use it in nursing but it was a total fail.

I'm sure they'll get a kick out of it.

I'm from LA and I'm applying to Penn's BSN/MSN, MGHI's DE-MSN, Johns Hopkins, Columbia MDE/DNP, and USF! Penn and Columbia are my top choice schools
