I know it is super early to start such a thread but I was hopping to connect with potential applicants/classmates for Columbia SON MDE 2018 program!

If you are applying to Columbia SON for summer 2018, let's share our experiences, ideas, thoughts and such!

Maybe they didn't get all your documents, transcripts, letters of rec, GRE by the priority deadline?

They did. I received that message after I submitted my application too and haven't updated anything since but who knows...maybe it was a glitch lol.

I think you'll be okay as long as everything is dated before the 2nd.

I think it was a glitch in the system. But I did get a follow up email, anyone else? Says that it is now being reviewed by faculty committee.

Just want to throw this out there for people thinking of community from NJ/farther away, most of the people I know in the program now who started with that plan have since moved closer with the exception of a couple people in Queens/Brooklyn. Our clinicals can start as early as 6:45 am and public transportation is not very reliable that early in the morning (and there is no parking available for students at most clinical sites if you do have a car).

Did you guys receive this email, if so it says at the bottom it is being reviewed.

Thank you for your MDE application to Columbia University School of Nursing. We wanted to highlight a few points as we move forward with the application process:

We will send two financial aid e-mails next week. The first will introduce you to our financial aid process. The second will discuss the FAFSA process and provide access to our scholarship application. As this scholarship application is new, we will host a number of sessions that will allow you a platform to ask any financial aid questions that you may have.

GRE scores, if applicable, will be matched with applications during the review process, not before. Similarly, if you are exempt, we will waive the requirement at the time of review. If we need your scores, we will reach out to you individually.

As an applicant, it is your responsibility to ensure that you complete any and all requirements by orientation, May 30, 2018, with a grade of B or better. We want to highlight this point now to ensure that you register for any needed coursework in the spring semester.

We will send an e-mail in December requesting fall transcripts. Good luck if you are taking courses.

Admissions decisions will be published by mid-February via e-mail notification.

We will host a Visiting Day for accepted students on March 2, 2018; specific details will be sent to these students.

The MDE portion of the program will begin with a three day orientation, May 30th-June 1st.
