Columbia ETP Program 2012 entry

I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.

Do you guys know if we hear from them for sure on Friday(Feb 3rd)??

I just called and they said they have already made their decisions but they will try to send out notifications by the end of NEXT week, if not, a week an a half.

If they have already made their decisions, then why the delay in sending them out?

do you think they would tell us over the phone if we are accepted?

will they post it online or just send an email? will we also get a letter in the regular mail?

Will they tell us also if we are not accepted?

I highly doubt they would disclose acceptance information over the phone.

If anyone calls to ask, please let us know what they say!

It's unlikely that they will tell you over the phone. I'm sure they don't want their phones ringing off the hook. They usually send out an email to let you know that the decision is on the website.

Supercze: did they tell you why they are waiting to send out the decisions?

that is so annoying!!!!! why make the decisions and then wait to send them? and even though they told me they were aiming to get the decisions out by the 3rd, i really had it in my head that they would. hmmpph.

Ok THAT is straight up frustrating. What a process! It was like pulling teeth to find out when our ED decisions would be out...then more waiting, and now this. Blah! Hoping for great news for all of the applicants on this board!

When they sent out the ED decisions it was all done online. We got an email telling us to check the status of our application on the website. Once on the website, on the bottom of the page there was a link to our status. Click ion that and there was a letter. Quite a drawn out process! It was the same for everyone (accepted, deferred, and rejected) I believe. Never did get a letter in the mail.

they did not say why, but they probably have to get the emails ready for those accepted, waitlisted, and denied or something. Then, maybe send them all out at the same time. But yes, it is frustrating. I believe they said we would get an email and noticfication in the mail.
