I have a question for NPs in California... Do you have to wait to get your NP license to apply for a furnishing number? Or can it be simultaneous? I have heard a couple things and looking at the California nursing website just confused me more. It seems like you need a license because the form asks for an NP license number, but on the off chance that you don't, I'd like to get my furnishing number ASAP! Any info is greatly appreciated :)

i finally got my license! thank goodness! i guess all my time spent on hold was well worth it :)

My latest news is that California won't take my transcripts because I'm in a bridge program and don't have a degree yet (so I'm still in the program, I'm an RN, and I'm getting my MSN in August). I've called, left messages, and explained that other people from my program have CA licenses, but so far, no luck. I have a full week of classes ahead of me so I'll have to wait a little while before I call to harass them again haha. On the bright side, I was told my fingerprints went through! So that's something :)

I just called the board of nursing and *apparently* they said i did not pay all my fees, which is odd, considering they cashed my check! They also didn't see my license verification since i did it via nursys… also strange since they recommend that. What a mess!!!! the girl i spoke to was really helpful, but i can't believe they have made so many errors on just one license! she said by calling i probably helped speed along the process, so i guess it was worth it, but wow. good to know that california BON is one giant mess over there!

YIKES. I was planning to call on Friday morning, and am scared of what they may tell me… It's just so hard to wait and have absolutely no idea what's happening. If I hear anything new and/or remotely helpful, I'll let you guys know!

cecilbee1, we are on almost exactly the same timeline! I asked the BON for cards in JANUARY but still hadn't gotten them a month later so i just went to the police station. I sent my stuff feb 18, check cashed march 21, and now my application says pending as well! this wait is such a pain. let me know if you hear anything about it! good to know there are a couple other people dealing with this right now!

time2go, has the board of nursing cashed your check yet? I sent most of my stuff in about two weeks ago, but I too did fingerprint cards because I live in Tennessee. I am obsessively checking my bank account, email, mail, CBN website, etc, but no news! I just wanted to chat with someone who started around the time I did so I don't get too freaked about all this :)
