Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for any perspective applicants for Columbia's Anesthesia program for 2020. I submitted my application last week and wanted to hear if anyone was called for interviews yet.
My stats: ADN 3.7 BSN 4.0 CCRN, CMC, CRNI, BLS/ACLS instructor, recently promoted to unit clinician. 2.5 years of Cardiac ICU in a large level 1 teaching hospital. (of note: went to school close to 10 years and have poor grades)
Good luck to everyone!

Before my interview, I scoured the internet for interview tips to prepare myself. I looked at blogs, YouTube videos, and reddit.
Personally, I believe that every applicant deserves a fair and equal shot at their interview, so I think it’s important for applicants to keep specific details about their interview to themselves.
The interview committee at Columbia was also very clear that interviewees were not allowed to share details about the interview with anyone.
Best of luck as you prepare!

Well said, and I agree. Forums and threads like this are great at providing support through the application process but it's only up to the individual to demonstrate their readiness for an interview. I know not everyone "interviews well," but it may be safe to assume that any CRNA program interview will be very tough, and you need to be ready to earn your spot. Clinical scenarios, behavioral and current CRNA topics are good categories to focus on for any program.
