I will admit that Columbia's application required about 10 times as much time as other schools I applied to. The timed writing was basic, you get 10mins and the topic for me was very general. Myself and others I know that have applied wrote about 2 paragraphs and made sure to simply follow the instructions and answer the questions clearly. The video essay was definitely challenging because you only have 2.5mins to answer the question and you don't want to seem like you basically just memorized a script either. I just made sure I had a general idea of what I was going to talk about, just be yourself.
I remember reading this board when I was starting my journey to CRNA. I feel so accomplished to even be qualified to apply!
I received an email the first week of September stating interviews will be held the first 2 weeks in October, this was I when was still developing my materials and had not submitted the application. I applied that week and received notification a few business days later that my application went to committee for review. I haven't heard anything since then.

Hello all,
I wanted to start a thread for any perspective applicants for Columbia's Anesthesia program for 2020. I submitted my application last week and wanted to hear if anyone was called for interviews yet.
My stats: ADN 3.7 BSN 4.0 CCRN, CMC, CRNI, BLS/ACLS instructor, recently promoted to unit clinician. 2.5 years of Cardiac ICU in a large level 1 teaching hospital. (of note: went to school close to 10 years and have poor grades)
Good luck to everyone!
