Columbia CRNA 2020

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for any perspective applicants for Columbia's Anesthesia program for 2020. I submitted my application last week and wanted to hear if anyone was called for interviews yet.

My stats: ADN 3.7 BSN 4.0 CCRN, CMC, CRNI, BLS/ACLS instructor, recently promoted to unit clinician. 2.5 years of Cardiac ICU in a large level 1 teaching hospital. (of note: went to school close to 10 years and have poor grades)

I have not heard of anyone getting anything other than an update that their application was forwarded to the admissions committee. Which is kind of frustrating since the first interview dates are approaching and we all work and may live far away as well. Fingers crossed...

Does anyone know how many people do they interview in general?

I've heard it's 70 for 30 seats in past years, but someone mentioned on this thread that there are 40 seats this year.

In the open house Massi stated that although 40 seats are in the program they wil take approximately 38 people. I was just wondering how many will they interview. I also wonder how many are appying

I got the e-mail on 9/2 (the same day I submitted my application) stating:

"As you work on putting your application together, we wanted to provide you an update on your process. We will begin to review applications this week and faculty will invite those that they feel are a good fit for the program to interview. We recommend submitting your application as soon as you feel you are ready and not wait until the deadline, as time slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Below are the initial days of interviews:

Thursday & Friday, October 3rd & 4th
Thursday & Friday, October 17th &18th''

Anyone else got the same thing?

I am curious if they notify people they reject.

When did you get yours? I wonder if it was the general, same-day notification or a notification after application submission
