Columbia DNP-FNP Summer 2022

Hi there,

I  creating this thread to connect with other applicants applying to Columbia's BS-DNP FNP program that starts in June. I submitted my application February 10 and I am waiting to hear back! Very excited =).

submitted mine on Jan 31st and is currently under Committee review 😅

Eek I had just finished night shift today, I meant to say I submitted Jan 31 LOL. I also applied to NYU and got my dates mixed up!!  mine is also under committee review. Super excited! I was also following the MDE thread hoping to find someone applying for the FNP, glad I’m not the only one =). Do you know if there are interviews?

Columbia doesn’t do interviews. I think their “interview” is the video essay that we had to submit! 
 

I’m so nervous though, I only applied to Hopkins and Columbia. Fingers crossed!!

I see, wow I hope I nailed my video essays, it’s hard to recall how I did because it was so quick with all the adrenaline. I applied to Hopkins too, I think both decisions are out early-mid march! Can’t wait, keep me posted if you hear anything 😃

thanks for starting this thread! columbia's FNP program is my top choice; I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from them. hope to see y'all in June!

Absolutely! If I hear anything I will let you guys know on here 😃 I will be relocating so I am anxious to plan 🙂 do you mind me asking where else you applied?

I was admitted to Hopkins & Emory (DNP) and was waitlisted at Yale (MSN)! Only waiting to hear back from Columbia now ahhh!! What about you? 

Also, are y'all planning to work in NYC if admitted? If I get in, I'll be brand new to the area and have no idea where to start with RN job apps that wouldn't coincide with the DNP program plan!

Congratulations that’s amazing!! Did you apply to the first or second deadline for Hopkins? I applied to the second and haven’t heard back yet.

 

As far as jobs, may do PRN and take out a larger loan to help cover costs. Unsure yet, but if Columbia accepts me then I definitely need to plan fast!

Hello all I've been following in the shadows any thread that has to do with Columbia. I've applied since November 2021. My anxiety is at 1000.
