  1. wanted to share that I received an update to my portal yesterday with an admission letter! looks like they might be sending decisions out in waves... for reference, I'm an FNP and applied for the post-masters cert starting this Summer! best of luck and hope to see a lot of you soon!
  2. Hi! I did end up going to Columbia but completely agree that Hopkins’ flexibility & research prowess are huge assets of their program! As someone who doesn’t particularly have roots in any city, I was open to moving to NYC and pursuing an in-person education (I don’t think my attention span would allow me to make the most of an online education LOL!). Around half of our classes are still online and our curriculum is laid out so that students can work 2-3 days a week. I believe I made the right decision for myself, but I do wonder how the organization is at Hopkins (I would have to say that Columbia is relatively disorganized — we get our class/clinical placements quite last minute, but I am glad that our clinical placements are made for us since I didn’t have any preexisting primary care connections). Hope that you’re doing great at JHU!
  3. First of all, congrats on having that decision to make! May I ask which factors are the most important for you in a DNP program? I am still finalizing my decision (leaning towards Columbia) and would love to hear what the thought process of someone else in my position is! Personally, I am looking at time (2.5 vs. 3-4 years), location (NYC vs. Baltimore), and scope of post-graduate opportunities.
  4. Hi, yes that was me! Columbia turned out to be similarly priced to Hopkins, and Columbia's in-person education is the best fit for my professional goals (the networking capacity is unparalleled imo)! I think I'll be ready to commit if I receive an RN job offer in the area to help me with the cost ? Hope you hear some good news from Columbia soon!
  5. Congrats to everyone who got in! So excited for June, but finances are indeed daunting. Do y'all know if Columbia provides need-based scholarships based on FAFSA? Or do graduate schools only provide loan packages?
  6. I don't know if this helps, but I received my Hopkins FNP decision (ED) 3 weeks after interviewing (in an email). Hopefully this is the week y'all find out too!
  7. Waiting for this decision is definitely one of the most nerve-wracking things I've experienced. Since there's such a short turnaround time, I've been weighing finances as if I already got in, which may definitely take its toll on decision day! At least we're all already bound together through this struggle...
  8. First deadline! And yup, the turnaround will be quick :')
  9. I was admitted to Hopkins & Emory (DNP) and was waitlisted at Yale (MSN)! Only waiting to hear back from Columbia now ahhh!! What about you? Also, are y'all planning to work in NYC if admitted? If I get in, I'll be brand new to the area and have no idea where to start with RN job apps that wouldn't coincide with the DNP program plan!
  10. thanks for starting this thread! columbia's FNP program is my top choice; I'm anxiously waiting to hear back from them. hope to see y'all in June!
  11. waitlisted too -- everything happens for a reason! something better must be on the horizon ❤️ congrats to those who got in!
  12. been following this thread for a hot minute; just decided to create an acc! any other MSN applicants here for the vibes? :') getting nervous -- hope today's the day!
