COLLIN COLLEGE FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey guys! Who here is applying for the fall 2020 term? Anyone else here unable to take the TEAS due to the cancellations? I signed up for two test dates, both of which were canceled. I see they've updated the process with alternatives put in place for those who were unable to take the TEAS. That being said, it's still super confusing since the admission process is points-based and a major part of the selection criteria is your TEAS scores. I hope this doesn't mean that those who were unable to take the TEAS are not going to be prioritized in the admissions process. ?

I’m taking the TEAS tomorrow morning at 8:30 guys. I’m freaking out. I only studied for 10 days. I feel like I’m not very prepared.

It really isn't THAT bad. Lots of basic algebra on the math section, a few geometry questions and some mathematical reasoning. The science is pretty much just a recap of AP1 and AP2 with some basic cellular biology and ultra basic Chemistry thrown into the mix. The language portion was the hardest for me because I absolutely hated Comp 1 and Comp 2 and would be thinking about my math and science classes while zoning about when I should have been focused on learning what a hanging parable is LOL. The reading comprehension was not bad at all but it gives lots of people trouble. All in all it reminded me of a more science driven ACT

The ATI practice Test A and B are VERY similar to the style and difficulty of the actual TEAS. I feel like that is your best bet. There are also private tutors specifically for the TEAS. How long before you take it again? What semester are you trying to apply for?

I have applied for the fall semester already but I want retake. I know its quite competitive. So I don't know if I will be admitted, that's why am retaking incase I'm not. I made 72% with a GPA of 3.8. My reading was my weakest. 58%.. I'm a bit worried

Yeah because it is a new application process nobody knows what a good score for them is LOL. I do know that the application process closes the 5th. Are there still TEAS tests available?

Thanks for the encouragement. I wish I can just get myself to calm down. But again I have done my best to study. I’ll just go in there and give it my best?

I think everyone feels that massive anxiety the night before LOL. God knows I did. I slept poorly and realized about 3 hours after taking it just how draining the entire experience had veen. That being said once you are in the swing of the test those fears should subside and you will just go about your business like usual. The first 2 or 3 questions for me were rough as I calmed myself down and got used to a proctor watching my every move, but after that I was fine. Also I only studied (intensely though) for about a week before it and I finished with an 88.7 so with 10 days you will be just fine! Now go to sleep LOL. You have a big day tomorrow! Good luck!!

Yes. But I guess its for the Spring semester.

Ah. Well if that is the case I would just wait and see what happens this go around. You will have PLENTY of time to prep and increase your reading score if you need to take it again.

Is the TEAS test the same when you retake it, or it changes?

It changes. You might get a few repeat questions throughout the exam though. I think I had maybe 3 or 4 that were a repeat question. Problem is unless you KNOW you got them right before that doesn't really help you.

There are still tests available but through other schools. Like my test tomorrow, I’m taking it at another university then I’ll have my transcript forwarded to Collin College.

I just finished taking my TEAS now. I got a 79.8 I was aiming for more but I mean it’s not too bad. That puts me at 13 points because I’m still taking Microbiology this Summer and I have an A in A n P 1 & 2. Please does anyone know how I can access my tranipts from Collin?
