Hello
I was just wondering who else is applying for the Fall 2011 start at Collin County in McKinney! Do you guys know how many applied & what the minimum amount of points was for the last term? What are your stats? (if you don't mind sharing!) Are you applying anywhere else? What school is your first choice?
I have 14 points. I am applying without one pre-req and received 6 points from the PSB. If I don't get accepted this time, I am hopeful for Spring 2012!
Good luck to everyone!
P.S. If anyone who is in the program or been in the program, has any tips to share, that would be great!!
Anyone else applying to LVN/Paramedic Bridge?PSB= Aptitude test
So your applying for the bridge? Cool! I met someone at Children's who was a paramedic doing a bridge, but elsewhere. I'm glad you got in to do your PSB, and yes I heard there were people there as early as 6am! I didn't even know you could get in the building that early. Crazy! Well, I guess it's do what you gotta do. Good Luck on everything!
Bummer, I think the admissions lady calculated wrong. I think I am applying with a 14 and not a 15. Here are my numbers:
Prereq GPA : 4.0, 3 points
3 out of 4 prereq's complete: 3 points
Overal GPA (A,A,A,C)...this is where I'm not sure. Is this 2 points or 3?
PSB = 6 points.
So it's either a 14 or 15.
Does anyone know?
Go ahead and apply no matter what. There are no actual points of the total 16 that go towards in county like a few others schools in the area do. It's 16 max composed of your PSB test, your prerequisite GPA, your overall GPA, and points given to how many prerequisites your finished. Consideration when it comes down to two people of course is given to those in County, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't have a chance.

I got in on the 20th for the PSB @ 1300. Evidently, there were people in the line at 0600-0630.
In my conversations with the department, I have been told that 15-16 are pretty much a shoe-in. I would relax if I were you.
I was also told that for students bridging the point requirement is lowered just a bit but, as a bridge student I would fall into the second (Fall '11 start for generic) or third (Spring '11 start for generic) semester depending on my skills tests and one final challenge exam that I have yet to take. If accepted, I will not know which semester I will fall into until August.
