Collin College ADN SPRING 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I am hoping to be part of the Collin College Spring 2018 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am taking Micro this summer and plan on submitting my nursing application by the August deadline. I will be taking my PSB exam at the end of July.

Collin no longer gives potential students access to the point system used to rank students. Does anyone know what a competitive PSB score is?

I have a 3.75 for my co-requisites and I am hoping to maintain my 4.0 in my pre-requisites. Can anyone offer any insight on PSB scores?

Thanks in advance!

Maria

Three weeks have passed from application deadline! :nailbiting::)

I'm dying over here! I want to know now!!!

@49erintx I share your sentiments! It is becoming increasingly more difficult to focus on anything else right now.

Just pretend it isn't coming until October 12th :) Then it will be a happy surprise if it comes sooner.

But I keep seeing new comments on this thread and I get excited hoping that one of you say you got your letter. lol. I wonder if they are taking a long time because there were a lot of applicants for spring.

I also get all worked up when a new comment is posted. Typical wait time, from what's been said in the past is approximately 4 to 6 week from application deadline. Previous threads have mentioned having received letters by first week of Oct. I'm sure we will know by then. But i still can't help but be anxious.:nurse:

It's officially 4 weeks after the application deadline. The anxiety is killing me, how do all of you feel about your chances of getting in? Do any of you feel like the anxiety and uncertainty is affecting your health?

I am sure many of us share your sentiments regarding the anxiety of not knowing! I am constantly trolling all nurses for post updates. lol

Most of my uncertainty comes from not having a solid understanding on how students are actually selected. Before you could quantify a students pre-requisites and PSB scores, such is not the case now. I have a 4.0 pre-req GPA a 3.75 corequisite gpa and scored within 80s and 90s in PSB from (AA to VA). Nothing below 40 but I am still anxious and uncertain.

Yeah, I wish there was still a point system. I have very similar stats, and with a point system I would've maxed it except for my micro because it's in progress.

I don't think either one of you should be worried at all! I have a feeling our letters won't be coming until next week. Has anyone called the nursing department? I can never get through, lol.

Thank you. Everyone that has commented on this thread has similar scores and it would be awesome if we all became classmates this Spring.

I called yesterday and asked the receptionist if she knew when letters are to go out, she said next week. But i encourage some one else to ask too to see if the response is the same.

Apparently the answer is different depending on who we talk to. I called this morning, just now, and was told that letters will go out the 2nd week of October and we should get them towards the middle to end of that week depending on where we live.

Yeah I figured as much. Darn, the wait continues. The recruiter may be able to provide a more accurate date, however I am hesitant in emailing her because I imagine she is inundated with student emails posing the same question.:nurse:
