Published

Hi, I know it’s kinda early but I wanted to start a string for those applying to Collin college ADN/RN program in the Fall of 2022. I just want to know where I fall points wise and competitive wise to others who are also applying this coming Fall.

Yes I did take that exam and it is multiple choice. Study for that exam because it is by far the easiest 100 you can get… and if you fail it or get a low score it can be extremely detrimental to your average and be very hard to come back from.

Thank you for that heads up! It’s so many words to memorize?? LOL thank you for answering!

Yeah… it’s a crazy amount! But let me tell you it’s the tip of the iceberg for this program. Like I said it’s the easiest 100 you can get besides the math exam… though the math exam you get 3 chances on.. terms and symbols you only get one and it will make or break your first semester.

I made and studied with flash cards.. it helped me a lot. I’m studying them today and the rest of the following days till the exam. If anyone wants to study let me know!

What is the math exam? Like proportions and fractions? I assume it’s medical oriented

Mostly conversions to calculate dosages. It also has a number of questions regarding conversion factors, definitions, and values.

OK. Can we use a calculator?

Yes, but the calculator is provided in the testing platform we use. We take all tests in class through a proctored program on our laptops.

When is the math exam? Will we be given study materials, or how are we supposed to prepare for it?

I’m not certain it will be the same, but for last semester it was the fourth week in. We are given plenty of study materials including practice questions, videos, online classes, and classes in lab over dosage calculations. This program is very dense and information heavy but You will never be without the tools and resources to succeed. I am confident everyone will see just how awesome the program and professors are when we start. The only way to be left behind is if you choose to be.

**Correction to my answers regarding the Abbreviations and Terminology exam**!

The Abbreviations and Terminology Exam IS NOT MULTIPLE CHOICE!! It is short answer.. at least it was last semester. I apologize for my previous comment stating it is multiple choice… it is in fact short answer.

Sorry for any confusion ?
