Collin College ADN program Fall 2022

Published

Hi, I know it’s kinda early but I wanted to start a string for those applying to Collin college ADN/RN program in the Fall of 2022. I just want to know where I fall points wise and competitive wise to others who are also applying this coming Fall.

I would highly suggest purchasing the textbooks as digital copies… plenty of friends from last semester as well as a semester further than them lightly used the physical copies. Save yourself the money and buy the digital copies only. The ATI books come as part of the ATI package you sign up for.. no way to get out of those books as it’s all together.

You’ll need every textbook during the first semester but not as much as you’d think… so just get the digital. If anyone is hesitant or can’t afford the books please let me know and you’re more than welcome to study with me or look at mine. The textbooks become significantly more relevant after the first semester.

Thank you for the advice!! Do you know whether the ebook bundle comes with everything the other bundle comes with just in Ebook form?

It comes with all textbooks you will need just in digital form. You won’t be missing out on any study materials and nothing extra comes with the physical copies.

Awesome! Thank you! Sorry for all the questions.. did you purchase the ebook bundle? And if so do you remember how long it took to receive the materials after ordering?

No worries! Anyone can ask all the questions they want. I’m here to help!

I did purchase the ebook bundle and it was 2 days after my order that I received the email to pick it up. It’s a big bag of papers for instructions and codes to download your books. You do have to pick it up in person.

For the terminology exam, the professor said it's fill-in-the-blank. Do you remember which parts are fill-in-the-blank? Like the definition of each word or just the word, if that makes sense.

It’s a mixture of defining the word and providing the word / abbreviation for a definition.

Hey Nathan do you have any advice for how lab usually goes

Hello! First day of lab is basically a lab orientation like we did for lecture. Lots of PowerPoints, questions, and a tour around the lab rooms. We will probably learn how to take blood pressures and practice that as well. You’ll need to wear scrubs and definitely bring a notebook. Most people use laptops during lab as well to follow along but the tables can get a little crowded. Make sure to complete your ATI assignments every Wednesday before lab.. the professors are very strict when it comes to grading those assignments.

OK thank you. Also what do you mean by they grade strict on the ATI assignments?

Meaning they don’t accept late work for ATI assignments. Make sure to turn it in before 11:59pm on Wednesdays. Also for Lab the ATI assignment has to be graded at a 100% to be considered for a grade (it’s a completion grade). What I do personally is get the test done because you can retake it until you get a 100% and then I go back through the material. It helps me understand the module and connect the dots better IMO.
