Has anyone applied for College of Mainland nursing program for Fall 2015?

@trinatrt hello welcome ok so you a ready been accepted to COM? I took the TSI and mad a 368 do you think I should retest because I was planning on it

It wouldn't hurt retesting since you only have to take one part. I was considering it but being that we only have about 2wks left Im not gonna stress about it. But if you can just take it and email it to them so they get it faster.

I called today and was told that i could email shot records. You need: HEP B

MMR

VARICELLA

TDaP (combined)

INFLUENZA

TB SKIN TEST

Ive taken all except TB and Flu

My mistake I understood @trinatrt had gotten an acceptance letter but I believe it is for the actual college. I hope and pray every single one of us gets in. When I submitted all my shots and tsi score the lady asked for my information for the health assesment course but I have not heard anything else regarding that. 2 more weeks then the letters go out shortly after.

What information did you need for the health assessment course?

@trinatrt Hello. I am not sure what information is needed for this course. In the beginning of March when I left all my information they didn't tell me.anything but a week or so ago they asked for me to be put on the health assesment list which is created to allow the nursing students to take this particular course I'm the summertime to make your class schedule a little less heavy when we start in August. That's how It was explained to me. But since several are on that list not sure how they go about creating the class for that since it is so close in may we found out if we are accepted it is kinda cutting it close depending when that health assesment class starts. Hope I helped.

Thanks a lot, I'm going to call today and ask if its still possible to get on the waiting list for that class, I did see that there is only one class available for the summer with about 28/30 seats available

@trinatrt I wanted to take Health Assesment as well I thought I would be able to just enroll when it opened up but apparently you can't. Things was kind of unorganized I actually found out about the information session the day of and was unable to attend because I had to work. If I would have known ahead of time I would have requested that day off to go.

Where did you ladies go to get your vaccines for hep B and TB? Having a hard time find somewhere reasonable. I have the hep B but need 1 more and need the TB. My job used to offer but I work for a different company now that doesn't offer it.

@KALFRN14 not sure I work at a hospital so that's how I got mine. Try your PCP

I got an email today saying that I had everything submitted except for my TSI scores, which i submitted by email. She found the email and said that everything was great and they were starting electronic files for everyone. She also said that there was a form to fill out to take Health Assessment over the summer and that the list was already full. I took all my vacs, just need to go in for TB test reading tomorrow. I took it at the Redi Clinic inside of HEB for $29. You can also take it at Walgreens for $28

Thank you so much I will check HEB!

They told me today they only had 40 slots for the health assesment and that on may 1st they will advise everyone who can be in that class. It starts may 23rd till June 3rd I believe. And that the remaining 30 nursing students will take it in the fall. So that sounds like 70 students will be accepted this semester. Whoo hoo that's a good number.

Are the people they will be advising on may 1st already on a waiting list for the class?
