Hello All:
Starting a thread for those of us applying to COC Summer/ Fall 2019 RN program. I am specifically applying to the LVN to RN program. Lets keep each other updated on status.
Just now, -WhiteR0se11- said:I have 81 points and I've read on a past thread (maybe 2017 or 2018) that the cut off was 65 points so hopefully I have a good chance.
Does anyone know the deadline for when we have to let them know if we want to be in the program? I know they let us know in late April but most of the schools I've applied to such as Pierce, LA County, Glendale, etc. don't tell applicants if they've been accepted until May and I want to know my admission status for each school before I make a decision.
I think we’ll have to accept or decline before the end of April since the orientation is May 10th. So maybe a week or so after acceptances go out.

With your stats, it sounds like you will have your choice of the merit based programs! Really impressive!
They haven't set a deadline to let them know. I guess it will depend on when they actually send the acceptances out. It does seem like people just accept, attend the orientation, and then make their final decisions once all of the schools have let them know so they can keep their options open.
Hi there everyone! I applied for the LVN-RN and COC is the first and only school I applied at so far. Did anyone hear anything yet? I read in last years post that email notifications were received around 3/27-29. It's just really tough to just sit and wait what seems like forevvvver........I hope we all hear very soon - maybe Wed/Thurs/Fri this week, at least I hope. Best of luck to all future RNs! ...just a matter of time until we all get placed. Let's keep our fingers crossed

Hi! I haven't heard anything back yet. I applied to just the general RN program. I'm extremely hopeful that we will hear something this week!
Good luck to us all!
Hopefully they will at least START emailing us tmw or so. I may call or go to their office Thurs or Fri as their offices are closed all of next week for spring vacation. So good to have this forum to check in on for support - something to boost our motivation. Does anyone know how many Lvn applicants they generally have? Wondering. . .as they just offer 10-12 seats. Also, isn't COC one of the few or maybe only school that doesn't require Chem? If I won't make it in, chances are I have to get that class asap to be eligible to apply to other programs as well. Then again, I heard at a COC workshop that they are planning to add chem to their prereqs sooner or later.

Since they are closed next week for spring break, I'm assuming/hoping that we'll hear back this Friday the latest!
I'm not too sure about the LVN applicant pool. Hopefully it's not too many since there are only 10-12 spots.
I think a lot of ADN programs do not require chem as a prereq. But I'm sure eventually it'll become a requirement. If you're going for your BSN, every program I've looked into requires chem to be done.
Good luck! I hope we hear back soon!!
Oh no, I went to the coc announcement page & they adjusted the date for the status update/teas invite to April 5! It says due to high applicant volume. Weird, because coc is on spring break nxt week...well, maybe the math & sci office is open & working anyway.
Thanks, futurernmelne for the good info. Good luck for your TEAS this Friday, Carpelibrum
