  1. ADN programs In Ventura county are very competitive. There are lots of students with Bachlor's degrees looking to get their RN with no debt. The only ADN program locally that does not factor in cum GPA is Pierce in LA. I applied to several back in January so requirements could have changed.
  2. No do not wait you are at a disadvantage for CSU’s in Southern California. What if you wait a year and still don’t get in? I would apply everywhere and do a BSN that’s concurrent at one of those CSU’s.
  3. Southern California is brutal. You need to ace your prerequisites and your entrance exam and pray for a spot. The BSN program where I live in Ventura county had 800 apply for 40 spots. As for the LVN 30 unit option you jump into the second semester at the ADN program around here.
  4. congratulations thats amazing news! At orientation there was less than 30 people and someone didn't show up. I thought there was plenty of room for more people. I messaged you my info!
  5. Don't do it if a B will ruin your chances. I was also tempted to take them together and Im so glad I didn't. In the end I took one science at a time, and got into 4 schools in so cal. In the grand scheme of things another semester is no big deal.
  6. I would skip re-listening to lectures. I record lectures but only re-listen to certain parts if I was struggling. Often I could find the topic on youtube instead of re-listening at all. For me I only make flashcards of things I don't know, and that are hard for me to remember. I will typically only make like 20 flash cards not hundreds.
  7. Yes it is structured. I’d say it’s bulletproof in that if the practice test A and B say he’s getting a certain % that’s very close to what he will get. There’s a few smart prep threads on here look around
  8. He needs to buy the ATI smart prep made by the people who make the Teas, and do all 65 modules. It comes with two tests that are huge indicator for how he will score. I would not take it again without doing this first.
  9. I was nervous when I started my CNA job last year. It was my first time with hands on a patient. You will be just fine I think it takes a good month to get the hang of things. My main advise is Do Not forget to the lower the bed! Seriously the one time you forget your resident will fall. Good luck you'll be fine!
  10. Can you apply to a different college?
  11. It said I was chosen as a stand By. If an accepted student didn’t show for orientation I would be admitted. Stand by students that go to orientation are guaranteed a spot next semester. This is the first I’ve heard from them since turning in my application.
  12. Yea I got a stand by email around noon.
  13. I asked when I turned in my application what happens if your the first person who didn’t get in? If that would make you first on the waitlist, and she said No anyone who isn’t in is assigned a waitlist number randomly.
  14. The waitlist numbers are assigned randomly
  15. I got into Ventura for Fall 2019 with NO waitlist. I got an A in physiology and Micro, but a B in anatomy. I got an 88% on my teas. These stats got me into college of the canyons, Glendale, and Ventura. So it’s not hopeless just score high on your Teas!
