Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) ADN Spring 2022
I got also accepted and honestly don't know how I did it. I got called a 2nd time on 12/1 after submitting my TEAS result on that day and got a verbal that I am accepted. Then on 12/2, I received an email confirming my acceptance. Since then, everything felt so unreal...like I have been applying at different schools EVERY semester for 2 years & got rejection after rejection. Then one fine day, after waiting & waiting every single day, I get a completely random phone call that I am accepted. I still couldn't believe it even after getting the email...it felt like an error was made or someone played some ill trick on me. Finally, after today's zoom meeting it is finally beginning to sink in that I somehow pulled it off to get 1 of the 40 seats out of the 674 applicants they had. Honestly, I'm not sure how I did it. So don't give up if you didn't get selected this time. Look at how long it took me! Keep on trying every semester and if all fails then in the end there are still private schools. Try making & saving all the money that you can now, because once you're accepted you may be able to work very little to none. Best of luck on achieving your nursing dream! ????

Thx KElliott0200, but not necessarily so. A&P seems like a language that you constantly have to practice - or brush up on. It's so detailed, so much info. ?

Just keep at it WhiteRabbit78. It sounds like you will be a gift to the profession! I’ve been an LVN for some years now & have seen so much nursing staff, no matter if CNA, LVN or RN treat pts so degrading and cruel. It makes my heart twist when it happens because these pts depend on our help as they can’t do it for themselves. So, do those that need you a favor & get yourself into nursing school, cuz I can telll that you have the passion. Btw, I was invited to take the TEAS also, but decided to withdraw this round feeling that I’m not ready to take it & scoring 70 would render me dead. As for everyone else, best of luck for this Friday ❣️

Keep the faith! Although 400 applicants , I think most students apply on average to another 3-5 schools & then eventually reject their seat. Also, maybe not all applicants are qualified. I heard last year on campus that there were 500 applicants, too & the forums still didn’t say that the 65 pts were raised. And I read in the prior years some students were waitlisted #15 & still made it into the program by the time the semester started and there’s the lottery too, although just a small percentage. So don’t loose hope. We worked our bud’s off to get here & sacrificed a big part of our life. The right thing will happen!!

Oh no, I went to the coc announcement page & they adjusted the date for the status update/teas invite to April 5! It says due to high applicant volume. Weird, because coc is on spring break nxt week...well, maybe the math & sci office is open & working anyway. Thanks, futurernmelne for the good info. Good luck for your TEAS this Friday, Carpelibrum

Hopefully they will at least START emailing us tmw or so. I may call or go to their office Thurs or Fri as their offices are closed all of next week for spring vacation. So good to have this forum to check in on for support - something to boost our motivation. Does anyone know how many Lvn applicants they generally have? Wondering. . .as they just offer 10-12 seats. Also, isn't COC one of the few or maybe only school that doesn't require Chem? If I won't make it in, chances are I have to get that class asap to be eligible to apply to other programs as well. Then again, I heard at a COC workshop that they are planning to add chem to their prereqs sooner or later.

Hi there everyone! I applied for the LVN-RN and COC is the first and only school I applied at so far. Did anyone hear anything yet? I read in last years post that email notifications were received around 3/27-29. It's just really tough to just sit and wait what seems like forevvvver........I hope we all hear very soon - maybe Wed/Thurs/Fri this week, at least I hope. Best of luck to all future RNs! ...just a matter of time until we all get placed. Let's keep our fingers crossed

New grad working as office assistant in Dr. office?
Hi, I am a semi new LVN grad. Besides looking into getting hired as a LVN, I've also resorted to applying for similar jobs. Just because I have to generate some kind of income for the time being. How long has it been since you graduated, passed the board? Just curious at what point you decided to take an alternative route....
