Nursing Students School Programs

Hello! Anyone applying to College of the Canyons for Spring 2019? Let's update each other. Anyone know the points needed to get in? Good luck everyone.

The wait is so hard! I hope they email us all closer to the 20th than the 31st. Good luck everyone!

Lol! Right??! I am not the personality type that does well waiting. Did you all apply anywhere else as well? I applied to Pierce and LAVC. Haven't heard a single thing from Pierce... Not even a confirmation of receipt..super odd. LAVC isn't notifying until November.

Yup! I applied to LAVC, Pierce, Glendale, Moorpark, LACC, and depending on if I accepted anywhere soon, will apply to Pasadena (their apps are due on the 31st lol)

Awesome! Did you hear back from Pierce? 2 of my friends did. Me.. nada =( I think they lost my application LOL! I'm also applying to CSULA for ***** and giggles and CSUN Bs program as a no lottery back up. I'm hoping I don't go crazy before being accepted somewhere hahaha!

Good luck w/CSULA's program! I may apply next year for their ABSN program if I don't hear from any of these schools :_(

Pierce hit me up to take the Teas so I just sent them my results. If you didn't hear anything you should call them Monday for a follow up.

I wish CSUN still had they 15k ABSN program lol. But oh well! We work with what the times give us.

Good luck with Pierce! Have you heard anything from anyone else? Have you received a status update like "eligible for the lottery" from anywhere? I called Pierce before but the Nursing office is "closed until further notice"? I left a message weeks ago and haven't received a call back.

I don't think my English and Reading portion of my TEAS was strong enough for CSULA tbh. I have no idea what happened during that exam. I scored 91 in math (my worst subject) and 81 and 75 in reading and english (my best subjects). If I'm not mistaken CSULA only takes the English and Reading scores. You miss 100% if the shots you don't take, so.... No harm in trying =)

Why aren't you applying to CSULA this year just in case? Not that you'll need to *because YOU WILL GET INTO A CC ADN COLLAB PROGRAM!! The applications are a year in advance.. well for the university and generic BSN anyhow. Not sure about the ABSN.

CSUN ABSN is 44k for the 15 months!!! WTH??!!! My mouth dropped when I saw that.

Heard back from Glendale to send my Teas results in. Now just waiting for their decisions. "closed until further notice" lol, that's ridiculous. Try going in if you don't live too far away. I didn't apply to CSULA or other ABSN program because of the cost :/

Even if I got denied from everywhere, I'm personally just not ready to shell out that kind of cash yet. If push comes to shove and I have to wait till next year, I'll re-assess what I can get away with lol

Crossing fingers and toes you get into one of those schools!! Your stats look great so I think you have a great chance! Yes the costs outside of laccd are crazy!

Ummmm... On the board in the classroom I wrote the TEAS at COC, it said "selection emails will be sent between Oct 15 - Oct 30". Tomorrow is the 15th.

That would be amazing if we heard something next week! We have all worked so hard to get to this point, and the home stretch is the hardest in terms of waiting.

So, we have to have 70 points to be eligible ? In that case I should give up my hopes .. lol

I called the office about that. The person told me to not be too concerned about that because it depends on the class applying. I believe the cut off for fall 2018 was 65 points.

I think the 70 points is the Chancellor's cut score minimum. Not total multi criteria points. In past forums people have been accepted with 62. Don't lose hope until you have an email confirming. Stay optimistic! Good luck and good vibes! =)
