College of the canyons Spring 2019-COC 2019 Applicants

Published

Hello! Anyone applying to College of the Canyons for Spring 2019? Let's update each other. Anyone know the points needed to get in? Good luck everyone.

I applied!!!! But not sure about points...COC uses multi-criteria and random selection, which makes absolutely no sense to me lol.

Haha I thought that was weird too. Maybe they take the highest points first then randomly select the next bunch? I'm hoping to get a 70 on my TEAS at least. So then I'll have 65 points I think. I was reading that people got in with that amount of points last term. Did you take your TEAS already?

I honestly haven't calculated my points yet hahaha so I should probably do that. So you're waiting for them to invite you? And yeah I took my TEAS almost a year ago because I originally was going for Cal State BSN programs but that didn't work out. Then I realized ADN programs usually only take your first attempt but that's okay cause it's still pretty decent for my first try...80.7%

Lol! It doesn't matter, I hope you're accepted! 80% is a great score and gives you lots of points :). I hate, that ccs only accept the first score, it's very stressful lol. CSUs are so competitive, did you apply to any BSN programs this time around? I didn't. I am considering ELMSN/ ABSN if I don't get into to COC, but I really want to save money.

And I'm waiting for an invite, or until I'm ready to take it lol.

Hi All,

Good luck to you all this application. This is my second semester applying to COC so hoping I get accepted this time around. I heard they select most candidates by using the multi screening system of 65 or higher and than randomly select about 5 students after those selected from the screening that did not make the 65 above cut. Unfortunately, for me I am below that mark so I'm praying I get randomly selected this semester.

@hopefulkim99 thank you so much!! Yeah this whole process is absolutely insane and waiting is the worst part of it all hahaha. But no didn't apply to any BSN programs this time.

Well I'm sure you'll get a TEAS invitational! Study hard...especially the anatomy and physiology portion.

Also, COC and a few other schools do a concurrent BSN program which I'm highly interested in!

Thanks! I'm not looking forward to the TEAS, hoping for a pass. Waiting is horrible. But let's hope that since not many people are in this group, not many applied lol

Thanks for advice about the BSN programs I'll look into them as long as it's not too hard to do both lol

I am happy someone started this thread. I applied for Spring 2019 and anxiously waiting for the email from COC regarding the TEAS. I am actually taking it this Friday through an invitation through the County, but COC is definitely my first choice. I am curious to hear how many applicants there were this past application process.

Good luck with the TEAS be sure to update us on how it goes. I haven't taken mine, so I'm hoping as welI. I also want to know how many applied. Anyone brave enough to call lol? I hope we all make it in. And more folks join our thread.
