Hello! Anyone applying to College of the Canyons for Spring 2019? Let's update each other. Anyone know the points needed to get in? Good luck everyone.

Hi there! Congratulations on completing your first semester! It must be an awesome feeling =) YES please share what it's like. What your schedule was like and how you found first semester to be. Also please share what essential tools we'll need to succeed. Have you done any clinicals as yet?

Congrats again and thanks so much on the advice/feedback!

Hey guys! I just finished my first semester of nursing at COC. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I remember when I was first accepted looking for info about the program/hours/schedule and what not. :)

Thank you!

So for the first 6 weeks you will be at school 5 days a week ranging anywhere from 3-8 hours. The next 6 weeks after that you will be on campus twice a week and one day of clinical. Your clinical day can be on a weekday or a weekend so be prepared for that. The first 6 weeks seem like a lot at first, there is a lot of reading and tests. You will survive! Tools to succeed are to keep up on the reading and attend lecture. The first semester is really fun, lots of learning and new skills.

Thank you!

I was an alternate #12 before I got in this semester! You'll definitely get in. One thing for sure is that they don't notify you, even if you call them, if you've moved up the list. They're gonna call and email you if you got in.

Hey I’m the same number in the waitlist for fall 19 and was wondering when they notified you of your acceptance. Not sure when I should quit my job. Thank you

Hi!
Where are the clinicals usually at? How are you liking the program? Thanks!

Depends which semester you are in. But they range from Santa Clarita, Northridge, Simi Valley, Burbank, and Mission Hills. Program is amazing, cant say enough good things about it!

I second that! It’s a really great program. I just made it through 1st semester and your instructors are all great and they want you to be successful.
