College of the Canyons nursing Fall 2015

Hello everyone!

Felt the need to make this thread as I couldn't find one for the upcoming Fall semester at COC. Latest one was for Spring of this year but I'm applying for Fall 2015.

Hope that it eventually helps those that are applying/waiting.

Just turned in my application to COC. Also applied to AVC. Curious to as how everyone is feeling throughout this whole process.

I've taken the TEAS test already through AVC and scored an 83%. I've got a 3.0 GPA for A&P and micro. Overall GPA of 3.3. First time applying to both schools. Super anxious to hear back from both schools. Fingers crossed!!!

Anyone still planning on working while in the program? Also, anyone commenting from Palmdale/Lancaster if they do get in?

I remember being in this very position last year. I just went back to my acceptance email and I received it 4/15/14 at 3:09 pm. Keep checking. EEEEEEEEEEEEKS!!!!!

I'm seriously freaking out. I've been working on this for so long and I'm just so worried. It's been so tough for me. My mom was diagnosed with MS when I was 17, so I ended up taking on the responsibility of raising my younger brother.schools been tough on me!!! I've worked as hard as i could, but I know I could've done better. I loved the cna program and being a cna, I know this is what I want to do!!! I just need this so badly! Haha

Sdfarey1, I totally understand your anxiety and I'm so sorry it's been so tough for you. Sounds like you have a lot of experience. That and you CNA gives you added points. I really hope you get in! Don't ever give up!

I am anxious for you all as if I just applied or something. I seriously remember this day and WILL NEVER take the program/this profession for granted! Say you don't get in, don't fret if you are an alternate. We had alternates that were called in Friday and school started two days later (Monday). Keep your heads up and I can't wait to hear all the good news!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!! Did you cry? I totally cried in my car. I was leaving work and I got the email right before i put the keys in. I read it like 100 times JUST to make sure it was real. LOL. Happy for you. If you have any questions, let me know. I am happy to answer to the best of my abilities. Just make sure to go to orientation and know they DO NOT MESS AROUND when it comes to dead lines on your part. Follow directions. And be nice to the nursing department. They are FABULOUS!

HI Darling24! Congrats on being an alternate. I know it doesn't feel like good news, but it wasn't a rejection which means you are still in the running. I am not sure how many alternates there were with our semester. I am sorry I cannot answer that question. Maybe call the nursing department and find out? I know some accepted students weren't at orientation, so some alternates will find out day of orientation if they are in or not. Keep going!
