College of the Canyons nursing Fall 2015

Hello everyone!

Felt the need to make this thread as I couldn't find one for the upcoming Fall semester at COC. Latest one was for Spring of this year but I'm applying for Fall 2015.

Hope that it eventually helps those that are applying/waiting.

Just turned in my application to COC. Also applied to AVC. Curious to as how everyone is feeling throughout this whole process.

I've taken the TEAS test already through AVC and scored an 83%. I've got a 3.0 GPA for A&P and micro. Overall GPA of 3.3. First time applying to both schools. Super anxious to hear back from both schools. Fingers crossed!!!

Anyone still planning on working while in the program? Also, anyone commenting from Palmdale/Lancaster if they do get in?

I applied! I live in Acton so I am in between both schools. I am also applying at AVC.

I am too! There was such a big thread for Spring. Anyways, are you ready?! I've practically got all the GEs out of the way. Just finishing developmental psych and history for AVC.

I am ready for COC, just waiting now. I have to start the process at AVC. I had a car accident a few weeks ago so I didn't have a lot of time to get my paperwork and application submitted there. I think I have all the pre-requisites they require but will know for sure when I go to the counseling department. I have a previous degree so hopefully I have the GE requirements.

Oh man. I hope everything is all right now? For AVC you should only need Anatomy/Phyisio, microbio, engl 101 and stats to apply. Hope we hear back from COC soon. AVC said they will be sending out letters in May.

I just got email from COC yesterday, I will order a copy of my TEAS score today.

I also applied at Rio Hondo.

COC TEAS Test Date :Monday, March 30, 2015 9 am-1 pm

I just got a per diem job at a major hospital in Los Angeles this month, so I am working 36 hours per week right now. I have not decide yet if I will attend nursing school. My family always want me to be a nurse.

TEAS 82%

B in A&P

A in Microbiology and English

Overall GPA 3.7

They did not even make a selection yet. Not until mid April.

There might be something missing from your application form that made u ineligible for the selection.

It's probably because I have a 2.3 gpa in the sciences. Maybe I will have to remediate somehow.
