Anyone applying to COC Nursing program Fall 2016?
Thank you! Congrats to you too! I actually really liked the way COC did their application. I applied to a bunch of schools and COC was definitely the easiest and had the best communication. They were also the only ones who did their application online.
I applied to Ventura and SMC in which you had to sit down with a counselor for a hour and have them look at your transcripts and multi-criteria screening and it was just a pain and took forever.
The other schools I applied to like Moorpark, Pierce and Pasadena all had their own little quarks which made them just more annoying than hard. Also every time I called COC or emailed them I always got a timely response. I've still only heard from 3 of the schools!
Anyways, that's my mini rant haha. So stoked to meet everyone!
Hello everyone,
I've been following the thread for a while now and decided to finally join. Congrats to everyone that got in!! I also got an acceptance and could not believe it. Super excited to have the opportunity to start nursing school. The thread has been super helpful staying inform about what is going on through the process. On that note does anyone have an idea when classes will being or what time classes with be held? I know this will probably be answered on May 20th but does anyone have a clue?

Welcome! Congratulations!! I couldn't believe it either...I actually checked my email the next morning just in case I dreamed it lol
I feel that classes would start in August like the rest of the school? And as for classes I have no idea....
Welcome and congrats! :) From what I can tell, the first semester of nursing school is anywhere from 1-2 days of theory and 1-2 days of clinicals. Every program is different but from what I've heard from other nursing students and attending orientations for a few programs, you will be doing something (either at school or the hospital) 4-5 days of the week. Some schools will start right away in clinicals and some will wait a few weeks for everyone to pass the dosage and calculation test before sending us to the hospitals. I think that is kind of what COC does but again I'm not sure! Anyways yes they will answer all of that at orientation but I'm totally with you there on wanting to know what to expect. Can't wait to meet you and everyone else! :)
Well I just got accepted at GCC!! So now I don't know what to do! I will need to look into that program more. I have been really excited about COC though.
Did anyone receive an email back after confirming their attendance for the orientation? I didn't get a reply and just want to make sure that they received my acceptance.
