Anyone applying to COC Nursing program Fall 2016?

And this makes the OCD in me craaaazy! I am a planner and I don't like not knowing what the plan is :no:

I can only imagine...Maybe make the drive to COC or make an appointment with Julie so she can let you know how the process works got alternates and what she recommends?

Canvas is like the new blackboard. I believe your username name and password is the same as the username and password you use on mycanyons. If that doesnt work then you use the username you use on mycanyons and the PASSWORD would be "student" (w/o the quotes) and then you can reset the password...

To go to Canvas go on the COC website and on the top you should see little squares like BB,mycanyons, email etc....The canvas square is between the BB square and the email square...the canvas icon looks like a vortex icon ...I hope this makes sense and helps you :)

Good morning...just called the nursing department because I couldn't get on canvas last night (I know it would be empty but just wanted to make sure I could log on) and she told me what number alternate I was. If you are on the alternate list, they will give you your number now. I am #18, so probably a real longshot, but I only applied to COC, so I will do the requirements and wait. She also said that alternates will know a week before class starts if they have a seat. That seems like A LOT of deadlines to meet after school starts up...

@mom When you go onto Canvas and type in the username and password it doesnt work? What does it say?

But no worries they have not added the materials or the course on Canvas yet....it could be that since you aren't activelly enrolled on a course that uses canvas could be the reason why it's not letting you....As soon as I get the update that the materials are posted I will let you know so that you can try then ok? :)

And if it still doesn't work contact tech support!

Congrats to all of you! Sorry I have been absent lately have been working at my current job and starting my new job at a hospital!!! So excited and nervous.

Im surprised they told you what spot you were as an alternate. Perhaps, its because there is a lot of new staffing in the nursing department and they don't know? or maybe they changed their policies. Before it was very hush hush.

And as excited1 has mentioned don't give up hope! I know of at least 4 classmates that were alternates and got in to my graduation class! Also, you will get notified as soon as there is a spot for you and based on that date they adjust your due date of all the requirements, etc. It's only fair you get the same amount of time as everyone else.

She said they never did tell the number before but they stopped doing that because they decided it was unfair for the alternates not to know where they stand. Hopefully, I get in but right now seems like a long shot.

Has anybody gotten an email for canvas instructions or has been able to log into canvas for the paperwork?
