Anyone applying to COC Nursing program Fall 2016?

Congratulations to those who got accepted! How exciting for you!! Thanks for the words of encouragement for being an alternate. Do they rank the alternates? I don't know if I could wait until the Friday before Monday classes and get ready to go. Does that mean you would have to buy your scrubs and do all the background and fingerprints and risk not getting in?? I kinda want to call but I don't want to be a pain in the butt either :woot: I am sure all my questions will be answered on May 20 but that seems like forever to wait.

@mom from other threads I've read they dont tell you where you are on the list....And I've also read that many alternates get in since many people choose other schools :) Do not lose hope!

@mom, I am not sure what the alternates are required to do, etc. I think they talk about it at the info session.

My stats were:

Pre-reqs 4.0

Oveverall 3.99

Teas V 86.7%

No healthcare experience

If you are still on the procress of taking A&P and Micro or any other prereq for that matter please send me a

private messege. I can tell you about the professors I took and what to expect from the classes. :)

I do not attend COC so I have different professors :( I'm currently taking Anatomy.

Overall: 3.2 (I got a BS degree in another subject)

TEAS: 77%

No healthcare experience

Hey guys! Don't forget to RSVP the orientation :) Also when you are selected as an alternate does it say it in your email? or does it just say congratulations??

It says:

Dear RN Program Applicant:

You have been selected as an alternate for the College of the Canyons RN Program beginning Fall 2016.

Yes it said I had been accepted as an alternate. I must RSVP and come to the orientation. I must also prepare all the orientation materials that are on Canvas (what is that? Haven't been at COC for a few years). If I do not RSVP and/or attend they dismantle my file and I have to reapply during the next open session.
