College Algebra Fall 2007

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Is anyone else taking College Algebra this fall? I thought that if there were several of us we could start a sticky. I always notice a lot of stickies for science classes but not so many for math. Math is definitely a tough subject for me so it would be nice to have some support.

I start August 27. Anyone else???

I had my third test last night. It was on radicals, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction, radical equation, etc. We had 10 questions as usual and 50 minutes. I did all the problems and I think I did well, but, you never know. On my first test I got 83%, and on the second 97%, so my average for now is 90%. I cannot wait until next Monday to find out what I got.

I just got the results from my College Math final exam, I got 97%! That brings me to a final 95% - I am so happy and relieved! It's finally over! Jeuj!

I got 94 on the last test. My average in class is now 92%. I have one more test and the final. I hope to get an A in this class.

hey im starting algebra and biology...how is it so far

I am in my last week of Algebra. It is a bit of a challenge as we do our classes in a one month time frame. We have classes 3 days a week for 5 hours. It can be a LOT of information to take in a day. We cover about 4-5 chapters per class so we move along at a rather fast pace. I have a 91 so far, not too shabby. 1 quiz on Monday and our final is on Thursday. I am praying for an A. Wish me luck. It is my last class before I start my core nursing in Jan. I CANNOT WAIT>>>>>>>>

Does anyone know of a good website to help me with logarithms? I'm having trouble with solving logarithm and exponential equations...just wanted to know if anyone could help? Thanks in advance:)

Just finished Algebra class on Thursday and completed it with a 97....WOOHOOOO. I haven't had math since high school in late 80's.....

Math

Ready2BRN...here is a site I used to refresh myself with some of the things I was afraid I had forgotten. It has pre-algebra up to and through calculus, trig, statistics and so on. I hope this helps ya.

I just want to say hello to all of you future nurses out there and to wish every one of you success. I am new to this forum and just starting my prereqs. for nursing. I would love to get a chance to collaborate and suppport anyone in our endeavors. I'll be taking Algebra II, Anatomy 210, and Psychology 204 this winter. This is a pretty tough load and I'm not sure if I should stack my classes like that. What do you think?

Specializes in Triage, Trauma, Ambulatory Care.

I am so excited! I just finished my final in Algebra II and passed the class with a A- I know that is not perfect but, for me, it was such a relief. I can't tell what a load it lifted getting through this class. I knew you guys would understand what I mean, the rest of my family is looking at me like I am crazy.

:lol2:

Ah, I am so glad this is over. I got A in algebra and couldn't be happier as I never liked the math. I was offered by instructor, as well as two other students, to attend the honor program. When I found out about the grade, the first thing I wanted to do is to call my dad (he is in Europe) to let him know that I got A in math...couldn't do it because I did not want to wake him up. He knew how I struggled with math in high school 15 years ago.

I just wanted to tell everybody, don't let your math phobia stand in your way.
