COC Fall 2014 accepted students!

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am starting this thread for anyone who has been accepted into the COC Fall 2014 Program.

My hope is that here, we can discuss everything from orientation to whatever! I have started working on folder 1 and folder 2. Everything in folder 2 must be received by the Nursing Department by 5/29.

See you all 4/25!!!! And congratulations! :nurse::up:

Trust me I know !! It is very intense program but as long as we (the students) make it easy on each other , we will do just fine. And BIG coffee sounds good ! Cake on me !

Anyone is going to attend the Medical Terminology during the summer session ?

Im in that class right now for spring. Its a GREAT class. Having completed A&P I, II and Micro, the class is super easy. Also learning a few things as well though. Highly recommend it. I wish i could take the pharm class but my current work schedule will not allow me to. Boooooooo.

Are you going to enroll for anything? Im taking a summer math class.

I wanted to take summer completely off school but I don't want to miss the opportunity to take those classes. Specially if they are important for the program. Which math are you going to take ? I need to take statistic for the BSN ....

Im taking another algebra class. After we graduate June 2016 (yaaaaaay!) i do stats that summer fir BSN.

Did any of you aware that the COC-CSUN program is not available to the incoming fall semester students - only for the ones who apply in August (for the spring, 2015 semester).

This is unfortunate! I was hoping to have the BSN started....

Agreed. However, there are TONS of RN-BSN programs available to us after graduation. There are some that we can finish within a year of graduating also so its okay! My goal is to get into a nursing program now, get licensed and start applying for jobs while i complete my BSN. Its not a deal breaker for me, but something to consider while you make your decision.

My LACC friend advised me of how they do the collaboration with CSULA. When first semester of the program is finished, they will determine who has a 3.0 or higher. Those with a 3.0 or higher will be eligible to apply to the program. They accept 8. If the number of eligible applicant exceeds the number of available spaces, they will do a lottery.

You are right. We will have plenty opportunities to get the RN-BSN in other schools. I just need to decide where to start after I will hear back from LAVC in which annoy me that they take their time to let their students know.
