I'm starting this thread for everyone applying for COC's spring 2014 RN program. Please feel free to join in. We're all in this together! For anyone who's thinking of applying, the deadline for turning in your transcripts and requesting your prerequisite evaluation is tomorrow!
I'm an LVN hoping to get into the LVN to RN program. I applied last year and received an email notifying me that I qualified for the program but that they didn't have the required 20 qualified LVN applicants to offer the class. Booo hooo hooo... Oh well, I completed all of the General Ed classes in the meantime and have my fingers crossed for this time around :-)
I'm a little nervous about the TEAS V test and am starting to study for it. I read that the test is pretty challenging. Yikes!
I look forward to hearing from my fellow nail-biters!
Thanks guys. I'm going to stop by the office on Wednesday and have them take a look.
erick2768 - I know! ugh... hence the reason I started here. hehe
batman- I know they passed out all the lab kits on the first week of class last semester. I'm pretty sure that they must be ordered before we start. Also, students had the option of wearing their uniform to the 2 days of skills lab on the first week of class. I think by the second week they all had to wear them. In that case, you would need uniforms and patches as well. You may want to call the office to clarify.
I just got my email from Kaplan and it's very frustrating that COC never seems to give you all the information you need. Perhaps I just couldn't find it, but I read the email and attachment several times. You have the option of mailing in your payment, but I'd much rather do it online in case it gets lost. This is the website you need to login to
https://kaplanlwwtesting.kaplan.com/S_Login.aspx the only problem is that COC didn't give me login information. So I had to call the support line 1-877-572-8457 they then emailed my all the info to my school email. COC never mentioned that we had to do this to get our login info.jessii -
What an unsatisfactory answer! Oh well, I can't imagine that it would interfere with the test... Let me know how it turns out :-)

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't received an email from Kaplan and will follow up with them if I don't receive an email in the next couple of days. I can't help but wonder what they are doing. Are they sending out the emails one at a time? I checked my spam email and logged into my COC email account and there's nothing! Thanks for the number to the support line! It looks like I may need it!

I'm a bit mystified by your comment that we have to wait for there to be "space available." We are guaranteed to have a spot in Nursing 109; Transitions in Nursing. The only issue is the date that you applied in order to progress into the psych nursing class after you finish the Nursing 109 class.

Personally, I'm thinking that they're going to require you to have the titers done again. I had my titers done in 2005 and I had a positive varicella result of 1.42. When I had my titers done last Monday, my varicella result was negative; less than 90. Wouldn't you know it that my body snuffed out the most expensive antibodies to replace... Of course the inexpensive MMR results were still positive because they are relatively inexpensive; $40 for all three at COC. COC doesn't offer the varicella vaccine so I went to my local Public Health office and paid a whopping $119 for the vaccine! And then it gets worse because I have to go back in a month and have a second vaccination! Yep, $238 total. Oh where, oh where did my antibodies go...

What did the lab tell you about the antibiotics?
