Do you have proof she is using anything? If not, then let her be. I don't know about the facility where she is working, but some do pre-employment drug testing. She will not have access to and of the medications and narcotics.
I have a nephew who is a felon for drugs, does that mean I shouldn't be a nurse? He is the only one in the family with this issue, gets out of jail in 3 months. Nor does he live near us, but still.
Are you a nurse who works with her or are you someone out to ruin someone's life without knowing if she uses or not?
How is her personal life affecting her work life? Are the drugs being dealt at the nursing home? Is she carrying illegal narcotics and a semi-automatic weapon? Some people are quite capable of keeping work and home separate. A boyfriend with a felony conviction is not necessarily contagious to the girlfriend.
It sounds as though you are making assumptions, being vindictive and trying to cause trouble not only for the CNA but the facility she works at.
Does DPR regulate CNAs?
Ive never seen the board of nursing take action against an otherwise competent and capable nurse because of poor choices in dating unless they were directly involved with the narcotic use or sale
Haven't you ever heard of associating with known criminals? If one cannot live an ethical life outside of work with integrity, then by all means, if you want to associate with known felons and drug users, so be it. If Im on my death bed, I sure as hell don't want the people who take care of me coming straight from a dope house.
I didn't know that associating with known criminals equals guilt by association. So, by your post, I guess I shouldn't be a nurse since my nephew is a known drug user.
I can also promise you that when you are on your deathbed, you aren't going to care what goes on in the CNAs home.
Like I said in my previous post, unless you can prove this person is using, there is nothing you can do about it.

I know of a woman, who is a CNA at a nursing home.
She has dated two known drug addicts.
The first one has a long criminal history.
The second one's drug dealer is being sentenced this week.
I really fear for the patients safety as she is around hard drugs. Im not talking about petty marijuana I am talking about FELONY charges!
I have called the elderly abuse hotline, and they told me to call the public health, which I did and filed a complaint.
I have let the place know anon through mail.
I have also placed a complaint to the Department of Professional regulation which is like the IL board of nursing.
Did I do the right things?
