30+ club! Lets do this together.

I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!

Why can't I "like" things ? Anyone know ?

AN changed it from "like" to "thank" are you using you cell phone to post? If so, tap the comment and an option to "thank" will come up.

I'm so happy to see there are so many more people like me out there! I'm 37, mother of 2, working full time and finally decided it's time to go back to school. I'm still in pre-reqs (actually I can't start them until the fall) and hoping/praying I get admitted to the only nursing program within driving distance. My goal is to get my Masters and work in the NICU, (baby #2 was a preemie, so it's close to my heart). I'm going a little crazy since it took me 10 years to come to this decision and now there's nothing I can do until August!

Welcome to the club! Don't worry the time will fly and next thing you know, you will be applying to nursing school. I was in your shoes 3 1/2 years ago, now I'm just waiting to find out if I will be starting in August. Hang in there, this journey isn't easy. The roads will get bumpy, but just keeping going and you will get there :) best wishes to you!

I have just applied to start my pre reqs in the fall and I am having a hard time not being overly excited. I too took forever to finally take the plunge. I am just so ready to get started. I guess I am going to focus on enjoying my kids this summer and having some fun before I head on this long journey. Let's keep in touch since it seems like we will be doing schooling around the same time. :)

Congratulations!!! That's fantastic news!!!

Wow - we really are on the same path! I'm glad I have someone to be anxious with. After 10 years hemming and hawing over this, 3 more months seems like an eternity! How old are your kids?

I am 32 and have four kids. I am from San Antonio, Texas and will be staring my prereq's this fall. Thinking if possibly getting a class or two started this Summer. It has taken so long to get to this point and I am so excited. The timing just hasn't been right for one reason or another but now it's my time! I am a little apprehensive on which direction to go. It seems like there are so many different routes. I hear from some go

ADN and others go BSN. Every time I think I know which direction I want to go I feel like I read something else that makes me doubt which way to go. I am going to speak with an advisor in a few days so helpfully that puts to rest some of my anxiety over which program to choose. Does anyone else feel this way or how did you choose which way you decided to go? Thanks for reading. Sorry so long!

What did you decide? I'm probably going to go the ASN route (then go RN to BSN) because the closest BSN as a second degree is 2 hours away. I'll do it if I have to (and the classes look more appealing), but being in the car 4 hours a day is a major deterrent!

Starting pre-reqs this fall. I'm trying to be more excited but I'm worried - I'll be taking a class on Sunday and working... I work Saturdays and 4 week days. I'm worried about being in class on our only family day... My kids are little and I feel guilty. :(
