I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!
I am 28 and going through a career change as well. I have my BA and have been working offshore on seismic research vessels for the last few years. Though not quite 30, I certainly have noticed a huge difference being in school as an older student. Congrats to everyone and good luck to us all!
I am glad someone created a 30+ club thread. I'm 36 yrs old, just finished my nursing prerequisites. I got accepted into a Bachelors nursing program that begins this fall. My first bachelor's degree was in Accounting. After 14 yrs working in accounting, I am transitioning into the health field. Also, I have my EKG/Phlebotomy certificate. Best wishes to everyone pursuing their endeavors.
I am 33 and just finished all my prerequisites and core classes. I have been on the waiting list at flo valley for a year and just got my acceptance letter that I will start in 2 months which is Aug. 19th. So happy but so scared. I have a 13 month old and have been with him everyday as a stay at home mom. In Aug. everything will change and I won't see him as much. My mom will be practically raising him!! ughhh...
I'm a 'graduate' of the thirty club, being 40 (41 in less than a month )-- I was 34ish when I went back to school, and in August I begin my LAST semester of my BSN program. It may seem like a long, long road ahead of you, and while that's true, it's over before you know it! Good luck everyone, I know you can do it!
I’ll be 31 in 3 months, married and have two boys 2 and 4, decided to change my profession drastically to become RN one day (right now I work as Purchasing Analyst). Plan to start my pre-req’s this fall. I still think I’m crazy, but want to try one at a time for now to see if I can handle it (working full time right now).
I’m truly amazed of all you guys who completed, are in the process of studying or who are just starting like me !
Good luck to all of us !
Im 39 now. I have my BSW and working towards completing my prereqs. I will be finished this year! I'm taking nutrition right now and Ant. 2 with lab starting Thursday for a half summer term! I left micro with lab alone in the fall.
I am taking my TEAS next month and studying for that. So far it seems like I'm ready.
It is hard sometimes going to school with kids...mine are 17, 12 and 10. One is graduating when I am supposed to be starting the BSN program in May. I cant believe how quickly the time flies. I've been very lucky as to be able to be home with my kids while in school this time. It is tough working full time and going to college with kids. I did that my first time around with my son. I think every time I had a final...he would get sick.
I just turned 30 this year, and I'm hoping to start pre-reqs in the spring/fall 2014. My goal is to my NP, and I most likely won't finish that until I'm almost 40. I was a bit discouraged about how old I would be by the time I go to that goal, but I think about the fact that I could be almost 40, stuck in a job that I don't enjoy...or I could be finishing up in a field that I think will bring me immense enjoyment. I prefer the second option.
