I'm almost 32 and just about finished my first quarter back. I will have 9 more pre reqs to take before I can apply for the program. I would love to chat with others and cheer each other on along the way. OH, and does anyone else think English 101 is kinda hard?! And why the hell does it have to be one of the 4 classes that count at my school? I'm going crazy!

I am 46, and I have 3 kids, (18, 16, 12)

I start school in August.

very excited.

I am probably the oldest here....

I'm originally from TN, around Chattanooga area :)

I'm way across the state in Memphis. :-)

I'm 34 have 3 kids and a husband. I have a masters in education and a bachelors in biology. I am going back to school because I can't possibly see myself teaching for 30 more years (to retirement age). I'm going to do a basic RN program and then look at transitioning to a msn after a few years.

Anyone else planning to work through the RN program. I carry our insurance etc.

I plan to work, no other choice. I pray it all works out.

I will be over 30 when I finish. I am glad to being going to college after having children instead of having to stop for several years after just getting started. I've spent my 20s with my children, being a stay at home mom, and will graduate when my little one starts kindergarten. It is the best of both worlds. I'm so glad I was able to stay at home with them, and now I can continue pursuing a career in nursing.

Hi all! I'm 30 with two kids 5 and 18 month old from WI. Just wanted to say ..with being in the situation at this age that I am more confident in myself to take on such a challenge then when I was 18. Good luck to everyone! And may everyone cross the finish line ...may not be at the same time but eventually it will happen.

I received my acceptance letter today! I'm going to nursing school! Woohoo!

How many of you are taking summer classes? If so, which classes are u taking? I'm taking a&p 1, a&p2 and microbiology (not all at the same time) this summer. I want to be done with my prereqs by September :) I took a year off of work after having my 3rd and last child :) I'm returning to work in October and want to be done with my last classes before then. I will then apply to nursing school for fall 2014 and then quit my full time job. I can't wait! All I can think about is being a nurse and can't wait until I'm accepted in the school of my choice (Lord willing) :)

I am taking summer classes. I'm doing Anatomy and Chemistry. I will then take Physiology and Micro in the Fall and apply in the Spring to hopefully start Fall 2014. Thankfully, I am off work for the summer, so I will have time to study (if the kids allow me, lol)!

Stay the course, y'all are closer than you think! I started pre-reqs at 35 and I now have 1 year left of nursing school. Graduation is May 2014! It's difficult to juggle a wife, kids, a full time job, and school but it CAN be done and its worth the sacrifice in the end. I will be 40 when I graduate.

You can do it.
