  1. I too am drawn to the ER, but I'm planning on keeping an open mind as I move through clinicals. Like you said, you never know.
  2. I forgot to mention that I'll be starting classes in the Fall. We also have a boot camp a couple of weeks before the semester begins.
  3. I have been accepted to an ADN program as well. Our orientation is June 6th. I'm really excited and nervous! I can't wait to get started. Wishing all of my fellow 2015 grads the best of luck!
  4. I received my acceptance letter today! I'm going to nursing school! Woohoo!
  5. Yea for wonderful husbands! I am very thankful for mine. I don't know how single parents do it. Bless their hearts! I cannot imagine how tough that would be. My biggest struggle so far has been letting the household chores go more than I usually would. The semesters I took anatomy, chemistry, and physiology, I had to study quite a bit. It's only going to increase in nursing school, so I must learn to be okay with having a messy house sometimes. I've enrolled in micro and lifespan (developmental psych) for the fall semester, but I will find out in June if I have been accepted into the ADN program. If so, I'll drop the BSN prereqs and finish them up afterward. Best wishes on your prereq journey. I absolutely loved biology! It's a great course that will prepare you well for physiology.
  6. I have had the same experience with classmates. It's funny, because I used to have the same mentality. You live and learn. :)
  7. I second Crimando's! In fact, my anatomy professor referred our class to those tutorials. They are great to study when the lab isn't available.
  8. Awesome! Congrats on your acceptance! I hope I get my letter soon. This waiting is tough.
  9. Thank you for the encouragement! :)
  10. I'm 34 and have been married to my college sweetheart for just under 15 years! We have two kids, ages 10 and 6. I never finished my degree the first time around. I have an awful GPA that reflects my lack of discipline back then. Since returning to school in 2011, my GPA at the university I'm attending is 3.65! Too bad that old GPA is dragging my cumulative down to 3.0. I'm having to bust my tail to make up for it, but I'm so very thankful that I went back. I've completed my pre-reqs & applied to the local ADN program. We find out in June if we have been accepted or not. It's based on a points system, and I rocked the Hesi entrance exam, so maybe I'll have a chance. If I don't get in, I'm continuing on with pre-reqs so I will be ready to apply for both the ADN and BSN programs next year. I'm glad to see this thread! I've had a few 30 somethings in classes at school, but it'll be awesome to follow our stories as we make our way through nursing school.
  11. Khan Academy videos on YouTube, and lots of practice on the equations helped me get a B. I am not a math person at all, so if I can do it, anyone can. Good luck!
  12. ^^Good advice here!
