Did you guys take A&P and 4 different classes in one semester?

Should i take only 2 classes in one semester? What about microbioloy?

I want to know if they require you to do essays? I can study until i know everything because i always go to the library for 8 hours a day. But if i get writingnpapers or research = d cause my writing is like a 5th grader with unproffesional words

When I did A & P I and II it was during the summer semester, I pulled 17 hours between summer I and summer II. That's 5 1/2 weeks of A & P 1 and 5 1/2 of A & P II with 4 other classes! :) There was no essays involved in my classes. I do NOT recommend doing that though cause 16 weeks of stuff piled into those 5 1/2 week was brutal! lol

Is there essays involved in other classes like anthropology, sociology, or psychology

Full time student is 12 or more credits. That is at least 4 classes if all are 3 credits. 3 classes ONLY if all are 4 credits. So yes, most full time students take 4 classes at the same time, if not 5 if some classes are low credit(1-2) and it IS doable. If you are also working or have young kids, and are only part time then you would only want to take 2. But do know if you get financial aid, whether you are full or part time does effect how much you get.

For my classes, A&P 1 and 2, as well as micro DID each have one research paper to write. It is generally accepted that in sciences you can not get by not being able to write, and that writing is a skill that should be worked on. I'm pretty sure throughout nursing there will be research papers and presentations as well.....it is not something you can get away from. If you have issues with writing I would suggest getting your english/composition classes in early, maybe even consider taking a remedial english first, and making sure you take advantage of any tutoring services your school has.

Edit to add.

Psych, i did not have papers.....my friend same class different teacher had short essays due every week.

Sociology, did have one big paper

Did not take anthropology

Really you should not be trying to figure out how to get through school without having to write papers. Instead you should try to take the appropriate steps so you learn to be able to.

ALL other classes i have taken so far, Intro bio prereq before i could take A&P...genetics research paper, and lab write ups for every lab. Nutrition...diet analisis=big paper, several small essays on evaluation of specific points/articals. English...all papers. Human growth, another that I dont have papers, but other teachers do. Psych of death and dying, have journals. Medical termanology......probably the one and only course that would be paper free.

My second pre-req semester I took A&P 1 and the lab, Algebra, Sociology (online) and Human Growth and Development. It was tough but doable. Don't work outside the house, except doula/lactation counselor work, and don't have small children at home. I was extremely time managed. Got 4 A's and a B. (in Algebra)

Nursing school for me was filled with papers - I did not have to do any for the science prerequisites, but for things like Pscyh, I had to. I like writing, so it was actually pretty enjoyable.

I could handle full loads with science, but it just takes good time management skills and organization.

Cerda, you have identified a few areas where you have weaknesses/issues in. It is a good first step to know where you have problems, HOWEVER, putting yourself down about them in multiple postings and/or trying to find ways to circumvent facing the problem (like writing papers) is going to hurt you in the long run. I really, really, really think you need to speak with your high school guidance counselor, parents, and teachers and work together to develop strategies to work on your problems with things like writing papers. I know you want to focus on things closer to nursing school, but your best bet is to improve your skills in writing, math, and reading NOW so you can actually be successful in nursing school later. Shaky foundations in these areas can be problematic in nursing school, but if you work to improve your abilities in these areas, you can be successful.

Thanks earthcrosser! I really appreciate it! Thank you

No papers in A&P, but we had 3 - 150 question exams.

I took A&P and 1 other class. You don't HAVE to take 4 classes. How many classes you want to take is your choice.

4 classes a semester ( including A and P ) was a light semester for me. I liked to be busy so i piled the classes on

I'm in an accelerated program, I took A&P over the summer which I am extremely thankful for doing so.. I have four classes now without the A&P and the lab day that goes with it.. It's do-able, but I know a lot of students that are regretting not taking it seperately. It is a large amount of material to cover, and you really need to understand everything in it!
