i was wondering where manna went to.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm still here.... still pondering. I actually sent in my application for the BSN program today. I've decided not to move cross-state with my husband. Tough decision, but for now I can't afford to give up my job, plus I have too great a family support system in place here in case I do go to school... for nursing or something else.

Now I just have five more pre-reqs to get out of the way, and hopefully if I get into this BSN program (same one I had originally planned on applying to), I'll be able to afford to go... if I don't get in, I suppose I'll take that as a sign. LOL :)

Have yall signed up for spring classes yet?

So far my schedule is looking like this... Gen Chem I w/lab, American Lit I and Intro to Philosophy all online, then Fitness Walking and Horseback Riding (my two activity courses LOL) on M/W afternoons. I've still got my full-time job too, and will be something of a single mom with my husband gone... think I'm aiming a bit too high? LOL

Awwww, thanks Heather! I just saw this post, guess I should have checked this thread earlier. :)

If I can get into the nursing program here (well, it's actually a 60-mile commute), I'll go beginning in fall 2004.... I decided to go on and apply here rather than move with my husband... this program is only 4 semesters, whereas if I applied where my husband is moving to it would take me 6 semesters... any less time I have to spend out of work/in school fulltime the better - it's going to be a struggle to afford to go at all, as it is! LOL :)

As for me...I've signed up for A&P III (my last A&P class - yay!) and Lifespan Development Psych.

well manna, i am glad you're gonna stick around too! though i'm sure your hubby's gonna miss ya like crazy, eh? i've been doing the commute thing this year, and the only way i can get through it is with books on tape! :rolleyes: i've lately been going through the stephanie plum series, very fun.

i received my rejection letter today! ok, i knew it was coming, but it's still not pleasant to read :imbar i know that i'll be starting next fall. it is a good thing too, as i need to line up alot of stuff.

i'll be taking pharmocology i and medication calculations. just for the fun of it! :chuckle

We're in the same boat! My husband is moving NEXT WEEK to Chattanooga to start his new job and I am staying behind and moving back in w/ my parents (lord let the nightmares begin ) I am going to miss him like crazy but when it came down to it, I was miserable at the thought of dropping out of school. Anyway...

I'm glad that you are going to try and stay in school. That's the best gift you can give yourself. If you didn't try, you would end up kicking yourself down the road (that's what I keep saying, hopefully it's true!)

Hi!:) I will be starting a CNA training program in January. It's on Sat. 8-5 and clinicals are on sundays. I am also taking a and p 1 and a math course during the week AND traing as a volunteer for hospice. Whew! That does seem like alot, but I am 26 and childless (well, except for my pug and cat:D !) I know it can be done. I hope to start my actual nursing program this fall. It's a 2 year hospital diploma program. Then I hope to graduate in 2006. But it probably won't be till later now that I think of it because I'm starting to think I should get the a and p's and pharm. etc. out of the way first at cc and THEN go into nursing school. What does everyone else think? Did anyone else go the hospital diploma route? louisepug:nurse:

how is a hospital diploma program different from a cc diploma? i did all my pre-reqs separate, cuz everyone says that once you're in nursing school, it's a total killer, :eek: just to juggle that. i'll start in the fall (the actual nursing program) and i've done all i can ahead. next sem. i'm taking pharm and medication calculations, so that i have a better chance of getting through the first sem. :rolleyes: which everyone says is the toughest where i'm going. good luck to you!! heather

I am sending you a happy holiday greeting. I am presently taking my prerequisites for a BSN program. I should be graduating with my BSN in May 2006 but I think it will be closer to 2008 because I am only going parttime while working parttime. I think after the Spring 2004 semester I will increase my course load. Good luck to

I am going to be class of 2006 too! i am 22 years old with a 2 year old daughter. I'm single but i thank God that her father is going to have her most of the time when i enter nursing school in fall 2004. The program is two years long (4 semesters long). Manna, what school did you apply to?

I'm about to pull my hair out with my almost-2yo and his tantrums lately! LOL

I applied to the school that's about 60 miles from where I live - my husband and I will just have to work our schedules around each other and spend time together when we can. His work schedule is so weird that I don't see him much even now while he's living here, so not much need to move over there with him.

Anyway, the school I'm applying to is MUW in Columbus, MS.

Where are you from, Jemommy?

My tuition this semester is 700 bucks.

I dont know if I can get that kind of money together in 2 weeks..
